I can't understand all the negativity.
I can howerver understand that frustration.
This comes from watching us play quaters like the first today.
What a great spectical, One of the best quaters of football I have seen all year. This alone should give us Tiger supporters hope as it shows what the future holds for us, and what we are capable of.
I am not blind to the fact that we have some ordinary players that we need to move on but overall we are a very young team and despite the frustrations of this year I think that there has been some very positive signs for the future.
Lets face it, we have not been terrible this year on the whole, we have just not had enough experience on the park to get us over the line.
Bring on 2008

It would be nice to play finals, but in the end no one is remembered for finishing 2nd or 3rd. If we can clean out another 6-8 players, then I think our list will be looking good once our players can adapt to a successful game plan

I know what you are saying but give me 6 months of following the team that finishes 2nd over the shit we have had to put up with this year any day. Life is about enjoying the present, not looking forward to that rainy day that never eventuates.

I agree it was a shocking title!!!
What was I thinking!!!!!
The point was that at the end of the season they only hand out one piece of silver.
probably an extreme way to make your point tiger...perhaps it would be fair to say, a few wins along the journey may give some sign of hope, a fleeting qtr of good footy, well...geez it's not much to hang your hat on....everywhere i turn hardened tiger fans tell me they see No sign, even i am being sorely tested:(

me thinks people get confused between no signs and the same signs that show no signs. ;)

I have no defence to what you are saying, a few wins would be great. I just get sick of posts on here that are so negative. Most of us have played some form of sport in our lives and Im sure that we all know how much it hurts to lose a game. Now it may just be me but it really hurt to lose and I'm sure that each and every player on the field each week for the Tigers are having an honest and genuine effort. Some need to develop and some probably arent good enough. But give them a chance
We could easily have won another 4-6 games this year and done what we have done so many times in the past and finished in the 9-12 nomans land with 8-12 wins.
Havent we all had enough of that?????

Yeah, I'll second the motion that this thread title is absurd. Of course there's a difference between 2nd and 16th. Not least of which is a surge in membership which the Hawks will get that we won't. Also there's that glorious, superior feeling the Hawks fans all have this year which we haven't been enjoying (I rather like it when we get it in a season).

But I understand the sentiment of the post. I'm still perfectly comfortable with the direction of the club and the list we're developing not just new names on, old names off - I'm talking about developing the players we have. Sure, it'd be nice to have some more points on the ladder, but as has been said, many of our games have been bloody hard, close losses and but for a little more experience in the bodies and the boots of a few players (and possibly a bit more guts in a few others), we'd have come off with those as wins.

Honestly, the worst thing about my season is that I've had a shocking run in the tipping. And it's not even that I've been tipping the Tigers each week (I haven't...not every week).

Also, it's been a very difficult year to watch, and I'm not talking about the fact that we've been losing - it's the fact that we've had 1 game shown on free-to-air all year and I don't have Foxtel.

Very difficult to watch indeed. :thumbsd::mad:

*NOTE: I'm in Sydney, so the chances for me to actually attend games are few and far between.

what dissapoints most tiger is that many of us thought we bottomed out when we came last in spuds final year...we were fooled into believing that those in charge had a plan to rebuild this club. Sadly that plan has proven to be a fruitless one, not in tatters, but a long way behind where we thought it would be. The only comfort I have is that the CEO has some smarts and there are signs that with restructuring we will be better placed to plan for the future than ever before.

From a supporters point of view I like to look at the list and rate each player at the end of the season by asking myself would they get a game in the team that won the flag.
2004 I thought we had 5
2005 I thought we had 6
and in 2006 that number had risen to 8
would be interesting to see how many others would say we have this year that would get a game a Geelong at the moment with them being the front runners of the competition.
