first off just a question, which number would our second pick be in the PSD. will it be number 2 or after the first round, like the PP

And with that, who should we pick up. I would pick in order. Griffen, Ty, Joel Perry or Tristan Cartleigt (spellin) but i think he would be taken in the ND.

and as smoky, i know it would probs never happen...but what at Nathan Ablet?

Wouldnt it come down to who else decides to use their picks... couldnt it be 3?

1. Ackland (Carlton)
2. Micheal (Essendon)
3. ?

well, the Kangaroos have the 3rd pick

But are they going to use it?
could be anything really depends whats left late tomorrow and what clubs want i think west coast freo and geelong have already indicated that they will only be in the nat/draft and richmond have said they are a possibility also

I'd like Troy Makepeace, but I think it'll be a young kid. They'll get a selection of the best left, and assess who might benefit the Blues the most by being on our senior list next year.

How about a F/S selection? I'd love it if we can take Sam Sheldon as a late pick in the National Draft, and either Jake Williams or Tomi Johnston in the PSD and Rookie Drafts. Thoughts?

Me fail English? That's umpossible!

But in all seriousness, Makepeace is a waste of time. He's an adequate back pocket, but is that really the type of player we need? The late mail, and I know I'll be crucified for this, is that we will pick up Cameron Cloke. You heard it hear first.

And don't get me wrong - I'm not at all happy about this unfortunate development, but trust me, this WILL happen. Much to my chagrin...

Me fail English? Yes, I clearly did. :)

Cameron Cloke? Please tell me you are pulling our leg? If we take him do we get a free Damir with him?

Please tell me that this is not true!

With so many young guys in the squad, I think it is becomming more apparent we will select Zantuck.
I think the powers that be are quite impressed with him and his possible turn around, we didn't seem to concerned about Bryan leaving.
From all reports Zantuck has been training the house down.
Getting back to the young list: we dont have much physical pressence, Ty is a real animal, all we need to do is harness this and get him to provide controlled agression.
He is actually that much of nut that I think a lot of league footballer shy away from him

If they pick up Zantuck would we be picking relying on the the rookie list for ruck depth? Seems a bit risky having only two mature ruckman on the main list.

I also think one of those two should be higher priorities than Zantuck...just can't risk Ackland going down and having to rely on Maclaren to ruck whole games.

i know you need a Ruckman...But why not pick up Mal 1st....Him and Thornton in the backline...It would release Whitnal to go Forward with Fev and produce 2 dangerous targets......and keep those 4 at Permanent positions. No shifting when needed...nonsense.

Surely Carlton will consider this..

Proberly because Essendon shafted everyone and have taken him, but thats at just a guess.

Umm, Carlton cannot do this as Mal Michael HAS signed a 2 year deal with Essendon, that's why!

Also, he doesn't fit our youth policy as he is well and truly over 24 years of age.

This is true but even if Essendon didn't pick him up, would we really want him?

We need to avoid quick fixes IMO and that's all Michael would be....

I think our backline is starting to steady and will be dangerous in the next few years.

GO BLUES! :D

They will probably pick up another youngster. There are plenty of players that werent picked up that are good players. They might pick up someone like Rob Eddy or Dean Kelly or either Jake Williams or Tomi Johnston.

But if they wanted to, they could have taken any of them in the ND. I think we will take an older player, to inject some experience. If we were taking another kid, we would have utilised the extra pick on Saturday.

Come to think of it, why didn't we use pick 83 on Rhyce Prismall? Similar selection to Raso, that he is highly rated for the next years draft. Could have been an absolute steal for us.
