'Limited pre-season' gets trotted out a lot when Player A or B plays an ordinary game, but rarely when they play a good one.
My favourite is the "I bet he's still suffering the after-effects of that glandular fever' when Lennon plays an ordinary one.

the brownlow votes should be interestingWent at 69% disposal efficiency from 20 kicks and 15 handballs. His 26 pressure acts was only behind the Captain at 27. His 493m gained was second only to Dusty. His 8 clearances was second only to Dusty.
He had a good night.

Why even have a pre season than if it has no effect on performance?
Does occasionally, Zac Touhy mentioned it in an interview just by example - but to be fair players don't usually trot it out, it's usually discussed when trying to explain something - no surprise and not necessarily a bad thing is it?'Limited pre-season' gets trotted out a lot when Player A or B plays an ordinary game, but rarely when they play a good one..

Again, to be fair I haven't heard Lennon say it, but there are plenty of examples in the past when the post year produced up and down form lines. Can be reason explain it. I know people who have had it that I have played in the same side wit,h and it does seem to take a while to get over fully, hence why there are such things as relapse I guess.
Perhaps Lennon's current upward form in VFL back this up - we'll see. I'm not a fan, think there is more going on upstairs than in his lungs, but would love it if he kept this current up-swing in form happening.
Elton says hi! I guess the meaning of 'ready' can have wild and varying meaningsTo his credit, Lennon has never mentioned it ... it's the supporter base. In fact the only time Lennon aor the RFC has mentioned it was at the time and that was he had a "mild case of glandular fever" and was expected to be away only a few weeks , which was the case. I doubt we would have put Lennon back into the senior side in round four if he was not ready!
Yeah Bolton looks ready too!Elton says hi! I guess the meaning of 'ready' can have wild and varying meanings
Show the Great Qualifier the door more like it!Goldy is bit more reality based I think -show him the proof. Nothing wrong with that, some of us are also overtly hopeful, and glad those blokes exist too
Spectrum Jak, we are all on itShow the Great Qualifier the door more like it!

We are all happy! Now back to the footy!Other things I am happy with .... I'm two in front in the pub tipping comp, with $2000 up for grabs to the winner and my nearest rival having alreday used his 'wildcrad for double point'.
Might surprise, given I keep it a bit more realistic than some on here, I'm a perfect 11 out of 11 on Richmond games
I'm also happy that you are happy dealing in delusion. I don't hold the mortgage on happiness!

Give it a rest...you'd complain if you were hung with a brand new rope! That's what I thought this forum was for, but it's generally a place for you and like-mindeds to take a pot shot at me.
I was merely responding to someone having a dig at me - surprise, surprise!

Well, this is his breakout game for us by the looks of it. It seems that his form prior to this game was more mental and perhaps conditioning as well than lack of talent.
He looks like he is starting to ease into training regularly and is settling into the side. As I mentioned earlier, playing in front of 10K-20K regularly is not the same as playing in front of 50K-80K. This is moreso the case when playing for a club that faces high scrutiny from the media and whose supporters can admittedly be very quick to judge a player sometimes.
Some can ease into playing for a club like Richmond or Collingwood quickly, some take time. If Prestia starts posting those numbers regularly, then I imagine the club and its supporters would be content with the outcome of parting with their pick 6 for him.

Lol no, I didn't mean that. I just meant that it may take a bit to play for a club with such drawing power. There would be more people angry and annoyed at you if you stuff up at Richmond than at Gold Coast.Hmmm
So you thinking playing against North Melbourne infront of a smaller crowd that he felt at home and comfortable ?
Maybe thats why he had his best game for Richmond
