1. New attacking play - the Colac Coast to Coast - Rohan to Towers, goal

2. Laidler is a solid backman

3. Towers keeps improving, albeit slowly

1. I am content with our depth now. Seeing young guys such as Biggs, Lloyd, Cunningham and Rohan all play well was great to see. Yes it was against the Saints but if we couldnt thrash them with these guys there would have been a worry

2. McVeigh has found some form at a nice time

3. Tippett and Franklin are very dangerous when they want to kick straight. Need to kick it better to win it

1. The young kids keep standing up. Rohan, Biggs, Cunners, Lloyd were all brilliant yesterday. I know, it was St Kilda but you can only beat the team that's on the park.

2. When kicked to PROPERLY and to their ADVANTAGE Tippo & Buddy are deadly. The other boys need to take note on how Malceski & McVeigh deliver it to them.

3. JPK is our most important player. Blindingly obvious the impact his absence had straight away. No one can match his inside ball and contested possessions, and the clearances stats before and after he went off shows it.

3a. I was of the opinion we play a full strength team every week until finals, now however, if we can get over the Doggies next week and have top 2 sealed I want basically half the team rested for the Richmond game.

1 : If we are to win the GF we need to start becoming more consistent over 4 quarters with our ball use , cant afford to many turn over as you wont get away with it against the Hawks etc.
2 : Rohan could become a real wild card if his form/confidence continues and could get of the leash when opposition teams focus on Mal/Macca so much of HB.
3 : Hope Tippetts knee is right to ruck in a few weeks as it would of been perfect in the first half yesterday to have a pinch hit and get some touch on the ball , confidence etc ( still think he gets stale at FF and a pinch hit would get him into the game a bit ).
4 : Reid is a worry imo
5 : We have pretty good depth but I still think Mal is to good to let go.
6 : Lloyd and Harry are cemented despite the form of some in the 2s.
7 : Macca is back at the right time , Jack is getting his hands to it but his eff is still off

It is our solemn duty, on behalf of the entire AFL, to put our best team on the park to ensure that the Tigers finish 9th. So be it.

Completely forgot their ladder situation, just woken up.

But you're absolutely correct. I take that back :D

Maybe just rest a couple crucials, if the Tiges have a spot waiting for them in the 8 and were the ones that's going to stop them they're going to come out playing tough hard physical footy, pulling out all stops. Is that really what we want a week before finals when our position is already sealed?

1) Biggs really ought to have had a go earlier. He stepped in just as easily as he did last year.

2) Tippett is gradually getting back to decent match condition. Hopefully he'll be right by the finals.

3) Reid is looking more and more like a third wheel.

1) How much better does it look when Buddy and Tippo lead? our delivery was much better to them than previous weeks.
2) Boys went through the motions when JPK came off picked it up again after HT.
3) We were 2 mids down for the game Parker stepped it up and some of his dash and contested ball winning was very good.
3a) Reid does he actually enjoy this role? i cant imagine he would lol :(

Jacks efficiency is as average as always

1 stkilda are witches hat, riewoldt is their only player id currently look twice at, schnieder is terrible
2 biggs must be promoted for next season
3 tippett moves better each week
4 if everyone was available and tippett can ruck, reid could be dropped

1. Watching Biggs seamlessy fill in proves our great squad depth. Most of our 2 year plus players have had a go in the shop window, so to speak, for both our coaches and other clubs to scout. Expect some serious offers for our players during the trade period.

2. Prefer playing teams higher up in the run-in to the finals. But happy with the intensity and attitude during the game, we looked switched on.

3. Adam Schneider is finished. Will always love the little fella.

And kudos to the captains and the players for rushing to set up Lenny's guard of honour. And Lenny didn't milk it, he just ran through it!

I watched the forward set up close yesterday and most of the time it was Buddy/Reid/Tippett all deep in the forward 50 , I know they are quick for there size but the ball still leaves the forward 50 to easy at times and I know the HF are suppose to push up but sometimes with our game plan our HF are either in the mid section of the ground or at HB getting it on the rebound and normally one of HF is Goodes and even though he is moving well he still struggles with defensive pressure.
I think Reid should be replaced ( not dropped ) by a medium quick forward or a small forward that can put pressure on when the ball hits the deck and be at Buddy and Tippetts feet as they either mark it or the ball comes to ground.

I think your man Rohan would be sensational in this role, but we'd have to pass this motion with the Half Back Flankers union.

Bird? He looked to be played further forward after his knee injury yesterday.

1. We have the depth to cover a weak opponent.

2. Tippett and Buddy work very well as a combination.

3. We're still not playing a four-quarter game. That needs to change.

1 hanners looked a lot better and should be at his best come finals

2 laidler is very good overhead but please handpass when in back 50.

3 towers might have something to offer after all

Yeah, guess not. C'est la guerre.

Too many underestimate Reid's role/impact. Always takes a big, has pace and good pressure skills, is adaptable, critical to the team according to the coaches and will be extremely important in the finals but hey what do I know...let's drop him!

Reid's not playing that well atm, but he needs to stay in the team imo. It's one thing having depth in the reserves but you need it within your best 22 as well. If a Pyke, Richards, Tippett etc goes down injured early in a final we'd be exposed straight away...with Reid in the team we have an instant replacement.
Even without injuries he drags a defender out of the forward line with his work up the ground and provides a marking target around the ground, given the replacement would be a kid who's barely played or a B,Jack who only gets 5 touches anyway and doesn't give us anywhere the flexibility Reid does a change isn't neccasary. This is the forward structure that's gotten us top spot on the ladder, be silly to start messing around with that on the eve of finals.
As for Tippett, keep him the out of the centre bounces for the rest of the season (forward line stoppages are ok), that knee issue is far from over, the risk certainly isn't worth the reward with a player as important as him.

In all seriousness John regardless of the role he needs to play he was pathetic yesterday. All things being equal if it means being able to keep a 30 year old Malceski who is more important to this team than you can imagine Reid could be offloaded. He does not involve himself enough which is a mental weakness more than an ability weakness because everybody knows what he could be. Sadly it is not going to happen. If it does feel free to hit me on the head with a sledgehammer and I will come up smiling even though I was wrong.

I agree Swansrule and he makes up for it with his dogged determination and effort but because he has it in his hands so often it hurts us. He constantly sprays on the run shots at goals, butchers hit up leads to forwards, finds the boundary with miss kicks and nearly breaks an ankle kicking the ball along the ground under no pressure. Wasteful considering the effort he gives. He is a favourite of all but facts are for a midfielder who is perceived as A grade his butchering of the ball says different.
