Just a thought, why don't we change the name of these to just say What did you learn against that team, as most have more than 3 things or only have 1 thing to say

Still wearing my Jake Lloyd socks ...Dont mess with with the thread or jake lloyd until we lose![]()

A lot of our success has come from having smarter coaching and working harder on drills.
Watch when a ball goes to ground in congested area - 1 guy grabs quickly and the other guys automatically run off him in waves whilst others spread fast. Seems obvious - but we do it so clinically with such fast, accurate handballs that it is virtually impossible to stop. Then add rapier kicking from Jetta, Rampe, Mal. The skill levels are remarkable. then top it off with buddy/Goodes/Tippett/Reid and the best defence in the AFL - hello premiers.
Opposition fans should not look at COLA as the reason for our success. They should ask why their players are not operating at the same skill, effort and intensity levels. Or why guys like Kennedy, McGlynn, Laidler etc are shining but couldn't make top 20 in Vic.
Jealous rivals should ask why a Langford at Hawthorn, or a Lloyd at Sydney can have an immediate impact? It's all about the chemisty from boot strapper to President that makes this sort of thing possible at good football clubs.
It's also why high draft picks often fail to make as dramatic an impact at struggling clubs as wishful fanbases sometimes hope for. Watts pre Roos vs Watts under Roos a classic example of that.
Must say I haven't seen much evidence of change in watts. Still flighty tall wingman. When he gets it kicks reasonably well, but missed a gimme against the dogs which would have won them that game.
I think he might turn out to be a good ordinary player but he ain't no Robbie flower
