Perhaps it's a case of we can choose to keep him for a 5th year but he can't demand it.

He is contracted at half the salary in 2017........like I said he didn't reach the targets in order to achieve the same $ he was on this year.

One very important statistic is missing from this analysis......

The guy on the lefts stats cost the CFC approximately $800k , the guy on the right approximately $350k (maybe a bit more, maybe a bit less).

And both playing differing roles with different judgements based off that role.

Kind of sounds like that we def want to trade him but don't want to look desperate so we are playing the "we are happy with him if someones interested they can come to us " card.
Very smart.......bit of reverse psychology.

The point I'm making is that the club may be able to activate the 5th year if they so choose whereas Cloke probably can't.

Not the case O S.....he has always had a 5th year.......nothing has changed in that respect!

Has the 5th year been triggered?
The trigger clause was for the full $800k in his 5th year, not the 5th year itself. He didn't meet the targets required to receive full payment, and would be on around $400k next year if he were to stay at Collingwood.

Can we please have him castrated so we dont get any father son picks in the future.

Cheers
PF
Nah, if he has a son just throw in in to the Daicos academy early and don't let Trav anywhere near him when he's learning how to kick!

Sorry for the intrusion ladies and gents.

Just wondering if anyone cares to share what he might be worth in terms of a draft pick?

I personally think he'd be great in terms of freeing up Daniher but don't tell your list manager that or else the secret will be out.

And good luck tonight. Looking forward to the game.

I agree.
We'll give you Marley Williams and Cloke for Hurley.
That way they all get to keep playing in the Anzac Day game.

Maybe it will skip a generation or two (sorry David)! :$

I listened to Balme, can't recall him saying that, unless it was the general view that "no player likes to be dropped"

Balme is quoted in the article on this page.

Aparently the Hawks have also put the feelers out.

I think it will be best for both parties to part ways.
It will be best for Hawthorn because they will get a gun key forward for nothing and will win their fifth flag in a row.

It will be a win for Collingwood because we will be able to get rid of another poisonous premiership player years before their time

Scary or funny thing is he will probably start kicking straight at the Hawks!!:p

I'm sensing some frustration in you mate.

Have you watched the AFL games Cloke was in this year? In most of them his second efforts were pea hearted. That's well within his control, not Buckley's.
Collingwood fans can bury their heads but good coaches get something out of nearly all players. Something Bucks cant do. No suprise we have gone backwards every year while Beveridge, Roos, Richardson, Bolton have all taken their teams forward who looked horrible when they took the job.

Who has gone backwards since buckley took over

Blair, Caff, Toovey, Goldsack, Cloke, Harry O (before he left) ect.

All players Malthouse got something out of who have done nothing under Buckley.
Cloke had his career best season under Buckley.
