339,299 is I believe the number we need in our last 7 games to break 1,000,000 for the season. I think its about 48,000 on average.

With big home MCG games coming up VS Essendon and the Hawks can we do it? If we beat he Bombers I think we'll do it. if not its doubtful.

70,000 next week would help.

When we have 2 consecutive finals appearances to convince a huge amount of closet supporters we are the real deal, we'll be averaging 60,000 a game and have 45,000 ticketed members :thumbsu:

You might be a little optimistic but basically I agree. 2 successive top 8 finishes and a bit of hype and certainly 50 to 55,000 average and 40,000 members are within reach. Our core support is marginally bigger than Carlton's and look what a bit of hype did for them this year. As it is the fact that we are averaging over 44,000 a game whilst in 11th coming off a spoon year ( and without any Judd type hype)is in itself phenomenal and achievable only by the Pies and bombers apart from ourselves.

We drew over 1,000,000 while failing to reach the finals in 1998 but that is the only time we have done so up til now for a H+W season. I stand to be corrected but I think we got 1,030,000 in 1998.

Well I will stand corrected and say I think we were the first team to ever break million in a season (think it was way back in 1980), though that may have included finals.

And yeah, we did break 1 million not that long ago, can't remember which year though.

We did...I thought it was '82 or '83

First club to do it, but then again Ess was playing at Windy Hill, Coll at Vic Park and Carlton at Princess

But you think about the huge attendance we had back then and we didnt capitalize on the extra $$$. Very suspicious where did all the $$ go and why could we not have afforded to keep Cloke, Raines etc

By the way we got 908K through the turnstiles last year

We had to pay by the metre for material for Clokey's shorts.

We were the first club to break the million mark in any sport in Australia and it was way back in '72.:thumbsu:

This is true and that was against a background of tiny crowds overall compared to now. Our percentage of the total was huge.

however in fairness it DID include finals and in 1998 we did it H+A only.
