Heath Shaw has been named to start this Saturday against the Dees.
After being slowed by a hamstring/back problem during the preseason, and missing the end of 2008 due to a club imposed suspension, I am absolutely itching to see the Heater get back to his best.
At his best, his is a majorly dangerous running back man. So dangerous in fact, that the opposition felt the need to put hard tags on him. Heath didn't cope too well with the tag last year, but also sacrificed himself for the good of the team, by taking his opponent right out of the game as well.
He looks like he has been playing the game far longer than just 4 seasons. I sometimes forget that he is still a fair way off the 100-game milestone.
Heath has a great ability to win a lot of ball. He can run all day. He will never back down from a contest. I think he has all the tools to become out next general in defence, and it is plainly obvious that we are missing the leadership of Jimmy.

I am really looking forward to a huge year from the last Shaw on our list. Perhaps big brother Rhyce leaving will give him a kick up the arse, and allow him to grow into his own man, responsible for his own actions.

After an underwhelming start to the season form-wise, Heath committed one of the cardinal sins in our game: he touched an umpire.
Brain freeze would be an understatement, as it is a rule that all players know you just _cannot_ break.
In my opinion he was lucky to get away with only 1 week suspension. His form was so horrid that I thought he may have been dropped anyway.
Continuing the trend of the rotten start to the season, Shaw has been put on the injury list as of today, with the information reading "Hamstring soreness, 1 week".

Obviously this is not what Heath would have been looking for at the best of times, even less so given his end to last season. He really has to butter up and turn it all around, as in my opinion he will be one of the keys to any success we wish to achieve this year.
