This is what impresses me too. At junior level he was pretty much exclusively inside mid/a bit forward I'm pretty sure.

Then to be asked to play on a wing in his debut season and do a great job is hugely impressive.

Everyone saw him take short steps in one marking contest which isn't good enough, and yep his first few steps aren't quick.

But man, everything else screams potential A grader for mine
If he and Tracca rotate from the forward flank, and with Chinns on the other flank, and Pickett in that mix.

I can see a certain softish medium forward... spending a bit of time with Casey.

That's fair. I definitely didn't think Langford would be best 22 but he's been better than I expected. And I've been pleased with his ability to find the footy and hit the scoreboard. And to balance that out, I still do harbour the same concerns over his game. But yeah, obviously as a pick 6 I hold him to higher standards than a speculative 2nd/3rd rounder. But I love this board and don't want any undue attention so I'll take a backseat for a bit.
a ha ha ha.
Just be yourself kiddo.

it is interesting that on the Richmond board, there's a lot of talk about Smillie vs Langford with many people not loving Smillie's performances in the vfl.
I think some of these bigger guys might take some time... so I'm happy with Langford playing regular 1st's.

But I still want another draftee in the style of Lindsay, McVee, and Windsor... we still haven't got enough running and kicking with footy IQ just yet.

I'm looking to reset the list and senior team from the draft... while our seniors drive the standards for the top.!!!

It may be the direction they decide to go in. A lot depends on what Petracca/Oliver/Kozzie decide to do I guess.

I think we need to part ways with Oli', and with the Fritta.

We should get what we can, getting us back into the top 10 of the draft, this year.

We can build a fresh team around our best players... of Gawn, Viney, Tracca, Pickett, Rivers, May, Melk, Petty, Chandler, Sparrow... and our kids.

Oli' is the one to go out... but to where?
Sugar you need to quote me a bit quicker, I had to go back a few pages to work out how long ago I wrote it and it was basically 4 weeks ago. Also I didn't say anything about Oliver. Anyway since my original post Viney has gone to a tagging role which he's been great so he stays.

me. Overall lack of skill level. hands and feet. Reads the play well though.
He’s starting to look pretty good now mate you’ve got to admit.

Very clean hands, excellent decision making and damaging left foot. Reasonable overhead already too for a mid.

Is a ball magnet too and when he fills out (which is only a year or 2 away) he’s going to be very powerful.

You must be happy with this pick at this point?

Kid is getting better every week. What a pick.

Last night - 25 disposals, 7 ground ball gets, 9 handballs received, 5 clearances, 5 score involvements in 78% game time. Able to play inside and out. Kicking was a highlight too.
As the season goes on and the season inevitably is done for us, I'd love to see what he can do forward. One of his strengths as a junior was his ability to go forward and take contested marks and kick goals. If he can show that he can do that, then wowee. Having seen the other rookies play this year, I'm comfortable suggesting he's easily in that top bracket along with Lalor and Ashcroft. I think Jagga Smith will be the other one talked about from this draft class in years to come. A few others looking good from this draft class as well including our boy Lindsay. It's a solid draft. Can see why we wanted to get another high pick.

And agree with Crusty Demon , very strange that his marking hasn't shown up yet at AFL level. Hopefully it gets there coz if it does we are looking at a special player.
