Turning his 11 goals into a 'coulda' 30 is a bit of a stretch there rickets.

Turner comfortably a better player at equivalent stage albeit in a much better supporting line-up.
He was our eighth highest goal scorer. If he'd kicked two more he'd have been in outright fifth place, only one more he'd have been equal fifth.
As with most of these things, there's something to be said for both perspectives about Konstanty. I thought he played the 'pressure' part of the pressure half forward pretty well - I distinctly remember him working back to make tackles in the D50, and his transition game was good; ran hard and linked up well especially by hand. Made one bad blue in that space - failing to give the handball to Scott in the last minute in the draw against Brisbane - but at least he was making the play.

The downside of course is he panics a bit in front of goal, the late game against Adelaide the worst case in point - in an OOC year, that has to improve if he's going to stay ahead of Dovaston and Banch

Yeah fair, 11 13 and probably kicked like the Fat Vegan a couple of times too. Coulda had 20 then .... and with a couple of lazy buggers around him. He'll still be right.

He lacks skill. I'm not sure it's a composure issue. I initially enjoyed him very much for the defensive effort; it felt like the first rainstorm after a drought in the savannah, but we seem to do a miraculous job of picking up players who fall exclusively into either the effort category or the skill category rather than both

Hahahahaha he can tackle

Dovaston is a yet to get a kick Temu Banch
I see the intent is there... just I see a whole lot of huffing and puffing yet the ball is coming back, to where it came quicker than ever. Maybe Dovistan will be the one, we can only hope! Especially when we have such defensive geniuses as Daniels, Augustus' and Corrs. What chance do we have? Combined that with ordinary skills and we're still a few seasons away from anything half-decent.

All this is true.

At least he looks like a footballer, that's all I got, something at least.

Yacob is in the mix for the 3rd Small Forward role... if he can actually kick goals or tackle someone successfully, he'd be able to lock that in, and we'd reassign CamZ.

Curtis -clear #1
Zurhaar - #2
Dovaston #3
...
Konstanty
Banch

Word on the street is the current pecking order is Banch Konstanty then Dovastan. That could change after Christmas of course

I don't really have a preference for #'s 2 & 3... Banchee shows a bit, Konstantys shows he can turn up and at least appear as a footballer, Dovistan(sic) should be good until such time that his ducking becomes an issue - hopefully he gets a few frees in front of goal (which would be nice) - as there's no oppo fans in the NMFC Members area on LVL 2 to lose their mind (if people are thinking it's ok to bring oppo mates, think again, it's not).

Turner kicked more goals twice in his career, never had more scoring shots and never had more tackles. (Higher average tackles twice tho.) Took KT three seasons (or more) to play as many games as JK played in his first season of playing AFL footy but it was JKs third season on a list. In that time he kicked more goals and had less scoring shots and tackles.

Both of them bring excellent pressure and both of them caused opposition panic and turnovers from that pressure and both did it in a way that forced turnovers further up the possession chain by making it hard for the oppo player with the ball.

so I wouldn't say Turner was comfortably a better player at the same point in their career. Slightly better for sure and that is because JK missed alot of goals he should have kicked. If he'd kicked 15.9 instead of 11.13 it would be very hard for me to split them.

Turner's best season was his fourth, 2017, until he was injured around halfway thru and he never really performed to that level again. He kicked 17 goals and made 61 tackles from 15 games.

JK is about to enter his fourth season having played two more games (all of them last season).

It'll be interesting to see how they compare watching JK next year.
The bolded is a dumb argument. Surely you consider what you're writing before you write it?

He is a forward who played every game, or close to every game. He was our eighth highest goal scorer.
Half the team is not in a position to kick goals - and he's one of the few who spend most of their time in the forward line.
Yet he finished 8th in our highest goal scorers.

In terms of expected output based on gametime and field position it's well below what it should be.

The fact you're advocating a forward who kicked 11 goals in a season as a positive is ridiculously dumb.

I wasn't talking to you.

Nor was I advocating for him, just comparing his output to Kayne Turner's. Maybe try following a conversation before you butt in with a stupid comment.

Kayne Turner is one of the few players to get worse as his career went along.

I've never seen a player get markedly worse as he got stronger and older. But that was KT. He had a crack, he was good, but I'd hope Dov, PC, Banchee and Chairman XuHaar are all better than what he produced post his first season. Because he turned into the Kittiest of Kats imo.

Little did we know that his ceiling was where he started.

I dunno, I agree to a point.

I reckon he got better till 2017 then I dunno what happened. Went downhill faster than Alberto Tomba.

I loved Alberto Tomba's calf formation NTTAWWT, but yeah can't recall if he improved post his Essington final in 2014. I'll let you know in a few weeks, as my memory is coming back like a broke cousin.
