So there we have it, another season done and dusted and a first 426 Memorial for Aaron Davey, whose early season form set up a comfortable win with a record-high 111 votes. Sylvia had a break-out year in 2nd, Moloney a very consistent 3rd place, Morton an underrated 4th and a late-season surge from Jones saw him into 5th.

I reckon we got it just about right, with perhaps not enough love shown for our back half.

Farewell for 2009.

Honour Roll (Bluey Truscott placings in brackets)

2009 - Aaron Davey (?)
2008 - Brad Green (3rd)
2007 - Nathan Jones (2nd)
2006 - Brock McLean (3rd)
2005 - Brent Moloney (3rd)
2004 - Jeff White (1st)

Flash had an excellent season, further proving his versatility and undoubted class with the footy. Can't look past him for the Bluey and a leadership roll for next season.

I think that it's been hard to give out votes to defenders when we get thumped by 10 goals.

Jamar getting 42 votes is pretty amazing. On a votes/games ratio, he'd be almost #1.

Look at those 05 - 07 winners, it really shows that we love out tough midfielders here on BF.

with Sylvia, Moloney and Jones all making the top 5 this year. nothing seems to have changed

I think we only copped three or four 10 goal floggings.... I expect Warnock and Frawley to both feature prominently in the official BnF.

I think Frawley and Warnock picked up votes here and there, but often just not enough to sneak into the top five every week, which might have cost them in the end.

Consistency isn't much in this award unless you are consistently very good.

Jamar had some sort of year considering he only played 7/8 games, and perhaps was unlucky not to pull votes on the weekend where he was pretty servicable too. Been a long time since we've had a ruckman taking contested marks at both ends. Should get PJ back in there to rove the packs at the Russian's feet.

Thanks again for your hard work BC. It's also interesting to note that McLean has slid into #10 despite us all thinking he had a horrible year.
