The only difference between Campbell and Algar is that one of Algar's best attributes is he is really good in the air. Quite a rare trait these days so he might be more of a handfull up forward. Campbell is a developing mid/forward.

Going to be very interesting in a couple of years with Algar, Hotton, Campbell, Lalor and Cumming in or around the forward line at times (when not in the midfield). Going to be one hell of a small forward line. Faull, Armstrong and Fawcett.
I also like the Lalor comparison up foward
Lalor is taller bigger and stronger but Alger is faster and a better leap ( I believe and some may argue )
but both are the that medium sized foward thats very instinctive and smart around goals

Not sure this fits into a Smith thread.

Lalor is great overhead, great contested mark. In a few years he'll be such an incredibly difficult matchup. He can play the Dusty mid/forward role, but with genuine marking power.

Alger will not be that threat, he isn't that powerful to take on the larger defenders. Could be great. But right here right now, Lalor looks like he could be elite at both roles.

He gets caught with the ball a lot, I think he’s a clever footballer but for some reason it takes him that split second extra to pass the ball. I’d really love him to just back his kick in and not always look for a second or third option.

Algar is more the Toby Greene type, good in the air and very quick when it hits the ground. Plenty of good marking players around the 184cm mark. But yes Lalor is 'special'.

Bench: Armstrong, then a battle between Mansell, Peucker, Clarke, NRT, Green and Rioli.
May the best man win.
I admire your optimism that Rioli won't be an automatic inclusion.

Lalor has the strength to out body his opponent like Dusty but is also elite overhead for his height.

hoos agrees with you, he is just familiar with how and who match committee selects hence why insisting rioli would still get picked
He gets picked for very little output. Why wouldn't they leave him in the side?
