Correct someone many posts ago mentioned until we actually have an independent last confirmed sighting of Gus we are never going to be able to have a timeline to work off

Surely sapol internally are trying to verify this ? As each day passes it’s getting less coverage, sapol seem to be making no inroads and all it does it put another asterisk on 1) sapol and 2) south Australia as being the state where weird and dangerous things occur and the premier is more worried about lobbing grenades in the Holdfast mayor about jetty road trading

Yes it’s also kinda strange to me that nobody who actually saw Gus at some point before he disappeared has made a comment. Why such silence? Is it a case of the ol ‘oh I don’t want to get involved’ situation? Fear of the snake shooter maybe?

Similar to the CSK, AFAIK no one has ever come out and said anything about him either. No family, no friends, no work colleagues, no neighbors, no footy team mates, no little athletic members etc.

Maybe because the police and army searchers are not the best at searching that type of land? Would it have been better for law enforcement to hire like 5 First Nations trackers?

WAPOL conducted forensic searches on Cleo Smith’s family home more than once in the first 2 weeks. They also took several items away to be tested, so I wouldn’t say it was completely focused on a possible abduction.

They did and they worked with the media to allow them to photograph and video this occurring.

In the Gus Lamont case: Everything being done since the dam search is being done by SAPOL in secret.

No. There is no suppression order on the case. Or on Gus. Or the family.

You can only find the evidence that you look for, and that you WANT to find.
They have probably looked for tracks, clothing, signs of life or human activity. So, visual search only - ground search, dam search and perhaps some sniffer dogs.

They haven't AFAIK explicitly looked for a dead body or blood evidence. So AFAIK they haven't used cadaver dogs. They haven't examined all the buildings or vehicles or points of interest with luminol to find blood traces.

They may or may not have used forensic techniques to track movements of people around the property. This has not been reported. There has been no public appeal for information regarding any particular people or vehicles, so I am assuming this has not been done at all, or if so, has been done covertly for some reason.

I actually remember people still blaming Cleo’s parent’s , all sorts of horrible rumors about them but yet they still appealed for help and did everything humanly possible to cooperate the situation.

The oase that comes to mind is kiesha Abraham’s , her mother appealed through the media then turned aggressive towards them and it was a little while before Keisha’s body was found and they were charged.

In the case of Charlise Mutten all I remember was her mother glaring at the media while Charlise was still missing because she knew more than she was letting on at that stage.

IMO, yeah, If I in any way felt some sort of responsibility for my missing son or grandson the last thing I would want to do is make a public appeal. I would be too shattered with guilt, remorse, shame to want to even be seen in public. A heavy burden to carry.

I think their actions point more towards a belief of a tragic set of circumstances than anything sinister, at least from their point of view. Not to say that something didn't occur, but not to their knowledge.

Assume nothing imo.

If there's been no appeal for information it's because the public can't help at this point. They know no unknown people or vehicles went on to the property to access Gus and he couldn't have made it out to the main road alone.

It might all seem as if actions by the police are covert but of course we're not going to see anything because of the vastness of the property and where the buildings are situated on it which is well away from prying eyes. Someone said you have to go through six gates just to get in there.

Sometimes suppression orders are blind either to protect an ongoing investigation or fair trial issues for example.

I don't think that's what's happened here. The police asking the press to stay away and off the property is enough in the situation, to keep the public blind to investigations.

Yes. The red cattle dog is called Molly and I think there are 4 dogs in total at the homestead. They might come out with the grandmas when they tend to sheep. Molly would go out with Josh when he was working at Yunta.

That’s a good point!! Were they all inside when he was outside or did they help Jess and Josie with the sheep 10km away that day??

I would have thought if you don’t have a babysitter and you out your kid outside, giving them a dog babysitter would be better than nothing.

I don’t think they keep the sheep close to the house at Oak Park.

It’s an opinion thing, there isn’t a stick of evidence of anything, which is the frustrating thing for all of us dc.

For every argument/theres a counter against it, I don’t think anyone is wrong in this thread, the issue is no one is right.

I genuinely have nothing remotely solid based on what I’ve learnt.

I generally follow the Occam’s razor way of thinking which suggests the simplest explanation for a phenomenon is the most likely to be correct. So yes I feel he most likely wandered off but then throw in the lack of footprints, no articles of clothing found, a hat could have blown off, a boot fallen off . No birds of prey hovering anywhere. It does make me think that something else occurred but again no evidence of that either. It truly is a bizarre case from a public sleuthing point of view.

It’s the weirdest and most nonsensical case I’ve seen in Australia in the last 5 years.

Right now, nothing adds up, none of it makes sense.

Yep and percel you are right with what you said and I want to be more positive but there is something just not right with this case (if I can call it that)

William Tyrrell's carers kept the issue alive for years and years and also the cops. This current case, to me it seems everyone wants to bury it. IMO Only the Daily Mail closely following the efforts to find Gus.

Could be. Oversea's publications if they were interested, can report it all, suppressions orders don't apply.

Not at all comprehensive, they should go back an start with the forensic testing of the buildings, vehicles and borrow some cadaver dogs.
