William Tyrrell's carers kept the issue alive for years and years and also the cops. This current case, to me it seems everyone wants to bury it. IMO Only the Daily Mail closely following the efforts to find Gus.
Timeline is a critical issue.

In the case of William we have nothing between the McDonald's visit, and the 000 call at 11am, except the series of photos taken at 9.37am. This is why it's so hard to solve.

But in the case of Gus there is no verifiable timeline at all, until the call to police at 5.30pm. There is nothing else. Zero.

I generally follow the Occam’s razor way of thinking which suggests the simplest explanation for a phenomenon is the most likely to be correct. So yes I feel he most likely wandered off but then throw in the lack of footprints, no articles of clothing found, a hat could have blown off, a boot fallen off . No birds of prey hovering anywhere. It does make me think that something else occurred but again no evidence of that either. It truly is a bizarre case from a public sleuthing point of view.

Agreed.

The trouble is that the initial narrative dictated what followed, and that narrative can't be substantiated, unless the cops have cctv that they've not announced.

It was assumed for initial search purposes that Gus was indeed on the dirt pile, and if so the simplest explanation is that he wandered off.

But despite helicopters, heat seeking technology, line searches, motorbikes, cars, and an indigenous tracker not a single piece of supporting evidence was found. Even the birds of prey found nothing.

So if 'wandering' is ruled out, what becomes the next simplest explanation?

I'm curious as to what the timeline is for a verified, independent proof of life for Gus. I assume the cops have that and are working forward from there......

There's so little verified fact in this case. Well, that we know of.

Could be. Oversea's publications if they were interested, can report it all, suppressions orders don't apply.
They do. Our laws apply to anyone who publishes content available in Australia. It might be difficult to prosecute if it happens, but communication carriers are obligated to comply or can end having licences revoked and incur heavy penalties.

True, depends if/what evidence was found or maybe not found.

The reason I say that is either he's waiting for permission from the police to talk about what he found, or he has nothing more than what his senses and gut tells him.

It's interesting that he says he'll expand on it 'one day'......it suggests it won't be any time soon.

He’s helped track several missing people.

What do we know with reasonable certainty?

Augustus "Gus" Lamont was born in 2021.
He lived with his mother Jessica and her parents Shannon and Josie at the family's homestead on the 60,000 hectares Oak Park Station in South Australia.
Gus's father Joshua lived elsewhere.
Gus was reported missing to police on Saturday, 27 September 2025.
Extensive searches have been carried out but no trace of him has been found.
We know what he looks like, at least what he looked like when the single photo we have of him was taken.

Is that it?

What we don't know for sure.

When he was last seen by anyone other than family members.
The whereabouts of the family members on 27 September 2025.
If Gus wandered off, was taken, or killed by a tragic accident which is being covered up.
Any whereabouts of his mother and one year old brother, Ronnie, since 27 September 2025.
Who else had access to the property.
Whether there's any history of domestic violence within the family.

If we start Occam's razor from the known fact that Josie shoots snakes with a pump action shot gun at close range on the verandah, would it be useful for forensics to work-out all a bullet's trajectory (path) taking into account wind etc. in order to exclude such an accident.

It amazes me how city folk react to a person with a gun going after a snake. It’s not unusual for this to happen in the country. Also a shot gun doesn’t always have a single shell it may be a shot cartridge. Just because someone has a gun doesn’t make them a psychopath. Given the circumstances they were under they made a very poor choice by coming outside with the gun and holding it in the air. I dare say the snake story was not real but was used as a likely scenario for her having the gun. Really poor choice that is making people in this thread have conniptions over it.

I’d say he’s not talking now as the site was ruined by the time he was called in and doesn’t want to undermine how this has been handled.

Agreed, couldn't count how many times my old man took care of a brown with his 12 gauge shotty.

I'll never forget the day he went one with a steel rake, as he lifted the rake for a 2nd swing the 6' brown came up with it and landed across his shoulder.
He dropped the rake and retrieved the shotty to finish the job.

It's not a 'known fact' that Josie shoots snakes with a shotgun at close range on the veranda. Or that any shot was fired at snakes or otherwise on the day that the DM reporter turned up.

But it does add another fact to the 'known' file. Josie owns a shotgun and is very sensitive to media inquiries.

We have no timeline before Gus’ disappearance and a very small timeline after his apparent disappearance.

I don’t believe that he disappeared on 27 September at all, and won’t be convinced unless SAPOL release more information to convince me.

Because the searchers found nothing, not even tracks.

No hat, no shoes, not a sock. Nothing.

It’s like he was never there.

I imagine Gus disappeared weeks before 27 September. Prove to me he was alive on 26 September, SAPOL. I dare ya!

Yep, and if you think she just owns one gun, you are sorely mistaken.

<an elderly woman> who lived “next door” at Bullyaninnie homestead had 16 guns in her house when the stranger turned up to her house and abducted her.

16.

How many guns does Josie have registered to her? And what about Shannon, who was well known at the local gun club?

IMO

Do you have a reliable press souce for this abduction?

Yeah, see as I've said before, the official narrative is too self incriminating from a lack of supervision perspective, to be made up.
Why not just say 'he was inside playing and somehow slipped outside without me noticing' if you were creating a false narrative/timeline, and distance yourself from any wrongdoing.

I reckon the time and day are correct but something happened around 5.30 that split truth and fiction.

I sure do.

She was held hostage in her house for approx. 12 hours. See the photo of the man in the neck brace? He was hit by the perpetrators car, after the guy killed a policeman, before he held <the woman> hostage and then turned a gun on himself, and he died.

The perp was out on bail at the time. His name was Shane Andrew Robinson. This is a news article from his coronial inquest.

“The coroner will examine whether any system failure led to a parolee committing a series of violent crimes before he shot himself in a siege.

An inquest heard Shane Andrew Robinson, 32, shot himself in the head at Bulyninnie homestead near Yunta in South Australia in 2009.

He had bound and assaulted an elderly resident inside the house.

The court heard Robinson breached his parole conditions several times, but was released on bail.

It heard Robinson stabbed a police officer on the Barrier Highway, then stole the police car and ran over a pedestrian before he arrived at the homestead.”

Very embarrassing for the SA Government.

Have attached map which is published by SA Government showing the proximity of Bullyaninnie to Oak Park.

I’ve also attached a photo of “Crutching 2024” at Bullyaninnie Station.

This is the ABN for Bullyaninnie Station. You can see who owns it.

I agree with Wallace , I think the date is probably the most fact we need to work around. Is there any significance to Saturday 27th or around that date to the family?

Was someone due to visit was he meant to come to adelaide ? Were there any scheduled social appointments or play dates? Does that date have any religious meaning ?

I sure do.

Given the article is paywalled and not everybody here can view it, would the following be correct?

It describes a 2009 hostage incident at Bullyaninnie Station involving an unnamed 75-year-old woman, whose identity and connection to Gus Lamont's family (the Murrays) are withheld "for legal reasons."

Kurve, I have edited my post to provide more information. As you asked.

You've read the article so you are aware there's legal reasons why the woman held hostage from the neighbouring property can't be named?
