This is a reminder that to this point there is no suggestion by the police that any of Gus's family were involved in his disappearance and engage with that in mind. Be careful, please.

Thanks.

I'm one who HAD belief in what the Police were saying in William' Tyrrell's case, look where that went and where it is atm.

I just watched an interview with Fleur Tiver, a friend of the family who had come to help
She said she spoke to Police towards the end of DAY 2 and she said they had already ruled out,

1. The child had been taken.
2. There's been any family harm.

This is DAY 2

It's still an odd thing to say on Day 2 if true.
Why say anything?
Why not say, e.g. "We don't suspect anything, but are looking into all possibilities" ?
Because Tiver and other neighbours might have had observations relevant to other theories, and may have volunteered this information to police at the time. But if you tell them, "No, that didn't happen!", then they never come forward with what might be critical evidence.
Seems to be tunnel vision and possibly a missed opportunity. They don't appear to have gotten very far without the public's help after more than a month.

Fleur Tiver might be repeating something she was told by someone else and not necessarily the police.

"Well, the police said ..... "

And she's repeated it. It may not be reliable at all.

I wonder if Fleur Tiver had ever met Gus? How well does she really know the family? Apparently she lives in Adelaide. She seemed pretty convinced that Gus had just wandered off. “He wasn’t taken, he wasn’t taken” she said, how would she know? She also seemed confident there were 6 gates to get to the house but DM has since confirmed there are 4 and they are not all shut.

The police aren't going to tell Fleur Tiver what they really think.

People are going to speculate because the police have expounded one theory, and one theory only.

Yet they have been unable to provide a single shred of evidence - not a button, a shoe, a hat, or even a footprint - to support that theory, despite helicopters, heat seeking technology, exhaustive line and vehicular searches, divers, an indigenous tracker or even birds of prey.

Not a thing.

So people are naturally going to wonder.

We don't know what information they might have actually, there could be a lot they're holding back. We might not see what that is if he isn't found, until there's a Coroner's Inquiry.

Once all the images have been analyzed, the police will probably do another presser unless they find absolutely nothing in which case the investigation may change tack and we could expect to see a different kind of pressure go on.

Speaking of Gus's family, does anyone know if he has uncles, aunts, or cousins living in SA? Are both Gus's parents only children? What about siblings of his grandparents? Are there any, and do they have families? It's very unusual to find a kid whose family has been here for generations who doesn't have a larger family.

Yes, they could be holding stuff back, but it's hard to believe that not a single word has got out from amongst all the searchers if anything of note had been found.

It's also curious how the police have refused to entertain any other possibility during pressers etc, and just how defensive they were over the shotgun incident.

Again, nothing in and of itself, but curious. They don't welcome alternative theories, they don't want public help, and are maintaining a deafening silence.

Normally if a kid goes missing it's all hands on deck and a huge, on-going media story, but this one seems to have been shut down real quick.

They’ve all shut up shop like SAPOL.
Very sad for little Gus IMO.

Just from the media, Jess is an only child and Josh has at least one sibling who lives in Adelaide.

She refers to Gus as 'this child' so who knows.

'Addressing the “heartbreaking” speculation, longtime family friend Fleur Tiver, from Yunta, said: “There is no way they’ve harmed this child”.

“The family would not have harmed this child even if the world was about to come to an end, which it really has now for them,” Ms Tiver told The Advertiser.

Apparently the Tivers and Gus’s family have been associated throughout generations so it would make sense that she might have a personal opinion about the family.

This is the last article I can find, two weeks ago. If they can't find anything of him, investigators might have to tear every outbuilding apart around the house.

Task Force Horizon is conducting multiple lines of inquiry into Gus’ disappearance.

Police have stressed these investigations have not uncovered any evidence of foul play.

Gus was wearing a long-sleeved shirt, boots, a hat and long pants when he went missing.

“Four-year-olds, they drop everything,” Yorke Mid North Superintendent Mark Syrus said in early October.

“The fact we haven’t found a hat or a shoe or something is pretty unusual.”

Yeah Fleur also said you need to go through 6 gates, along with 1 cop....but that doesn't seem to be the case according to Jonica Bray.

From what I've researched Shannon was the only child along with Jessica.

Josh has at least 1 brother Samuel who has at least 1 daughter.

Zilch info on Josie and zilch info on Josh's parent's

Oh sorry, I read somewhere that her family lived in the area but not her anymore. Could be wrong, so much dodgy information out there. Let’s just say, seen bundling a swag into her car didn’t look like she was a guest at the Murray homestead, cough, cough.

There were over 200 police and volunteers on the land searches, so the public was helping.

The military's also been involved using very high tech equipment going right over the property, I'm not sure exactly what else the public might help with at this point.

People can still ring in if they think they might have information.

Maybe the shearer's/workers could say where the sheep were before they left. I read all the workers were gone by the Friday before the AFL.
Thanks for that as I’ve been trying to find out when the shearers left….. do you mean before Friday or on Friday ? As I’m wondering if Josie & Jess were returning the last of the shorn sheep to their paddock.

And it could be feasible that one of the workers came back for something ?? But surely they have all been interviewed.

If the grandparents were also foster parents wouldn’t their names be anonymous and their faces pixelated like William Tyrrell’s foster parents?
Since there’s been no publication of any fostering situation, I don’t think the ‘anonymity’ applies.

I think maybe it’s one or the other - name him & family but make no mention of his ‘care’ status, Or state there’s a foster arrangement so keep everyone ‘hidden’.
