Lions next week in a reasonable Saturday timeslot at the MCG.

Coming off a huge win against the flag favourites. We have beaten two real flag candidates in our most recent games in Melbourne. Lions coming off a win and not yet totally dead though probably realistically out of it.

Can we draw our first ever 50,000 attendance at home to interstate opposition? Surely after dismantling of Hawthorn the fans will come out in massive numbers.

Im predicting 47-52K, would be rapt to hit 50K.....Some pluses to help hit 50K
1) The 2014 membership campaign with getting the remaining 2013 home games free will see 3-4K of those new sign ups come along to take advantage of the offer...
2) The big win over the hawks
3) Fine weather forecast
4) Being the only game at the G for this round could also see a few extra MCC members/neutrals attend pushing the attendance over 50K

Predicting fine weather , should be 53k + , the Freo game forecast looked to be crap all week , id suggest that kept 5 or 6k away that had already decided, despite it being a pleasant enough day in the end

Yes and the 1.10pm start time V Freo was ridiculous many kids playing junior footy, no way many could make it by 1pm...

Just concrete the whole thing and you'll never have the problem again. More people you put in the more money they make....? I dont understand it really.

I think Yarra park is heritage listed

I too think that concreting it with awesome drainage will solve the problem and save the G hundreds of thousands of dollars but I think it's sacred aboriginal ground. The only solution would be to build a car park venue close by or underneath the G that could fit the same amount of cars as Yarra park.

They've just built a new carpark next to Hisense arena and there is shit loads of parking within a 10 min walk of the G

47k pretty good. Our home game next week. We'll double Carlton's support especially if they lose to dogs which looks likely

Would've passed 50k if the car park was open

There is absolutely no chance of an 80K crowd next week. We will draw about 45,000 fans, a couple of thousand neutrals but carlton will barely bring 20,000.. I reckon somewhere in the late 60Ks.

Carltank has lost to Footscray. Season over.

Will bring 10 k fans lol. I'm going and I wouldn't be able to handle it if we lost to them.

They are irrelevant. All tha tmatters is how the finals shape up.

As you say they will drag the attendance down. Usually the Tiges V Tankers turnout is built on Richmond fans anyway. I mean we outnumbered them in their home game in Round 1. 65K max. If we were playing Essendon or Collingwood it woudl be 85K but they are bigger clubs than Carlton and are going well.

There will be 50k tigers there. I'd say 70,000 crowd

Im tipping around 70K too, had the blues beaten the doggies id say we'd be looking at 75-80K, the crowd will still be good as blues trying to grab 9th spot as it might get them in the finals if bombers lose their points....there were 45K tigers today and 2K lions....
Next week V Carlton around 45-50K tigers will descend on the MCG and Carlton 20-25 max and a few thousand neutrals

The core Carlton matchgoing crowd is substantially smaller than either us or Essendon. They rely on decent form and return games every year against the other big clubs to retain some kind of parity.

Wait and see. There won't be a big Blue turnout and there won't be 70K unless we get at least 50K which is really pushing it.

Since Carlton lost to Dogs, 60-70k is realistic for this weekend. History suggests Blues supporters are week-to-week showups.

Of all the Big 4 clubs they are most vulnerable to attendance fall off when they drop out of contention. They just won't show up in sufficient numbers to really bust the block.
