I have a really good feeling he will play against the Swans. 21 shots in his last 3 VFL games is really forcing Hird to at least give him a go.

We just can't afford to pull the trigger too early.

Is the body ready?

You'd think that's his arse, but Jade is standing on a big platform there and his grabbing his middle back. Joey extends downwards for another 4 or 5 foot ;) :p

He's grabbing his arse at its highest point.

I reckon they might wait 1 more week and play him v Carlton. Would be very hard for him making his debut against A tough side on the small ground. Carlton have weaker Key Backs and the open spaces of the G would suit.

The last time i recall having a genuine KPF who would lead out of the goal square and take marks would be when jay neagle used to play.

that tells you something

IT IS TIME

Daniher needs to come into the side against Carlton. I would like to avoid playing him against Sydney on Ted Richards. The Carlton backline being torn apart in his debut would be sweet.

The point of playing him isn't too just give him a game, if he get's a game this week it's because hird and co think his form is better then Gumbleton and against Sydney can provide and fits our structures better then Gumbleton...

I for one think he fits that perfectly.. JOE D to Debut against Sydney how bittersweet!

What would be the pass mark for his debut? Anything less than 6 goals would be a failure. :)

Ps. so sick of reading 'how many goal Joe kick?' on Blitz. :p

Personally it is not about how many goals he can kick. Is he able to consistently provide a strong target and keep his work rate up if things don't come easy. I also want to see him compete in ruck contests, at least in the forward half. In the first game it is all about how he goes about it rather than the goal tally.

He is starting to make it difficult for him to be ignored, but I reckon we'll err on the side of caution and continue to let him develop in the reserves for a while yet. If the reports on his 2nd efforts and ground level ball is accurate (i.e. not yet up to scratch) I'm happy for him to continue to iron out those kinks in the reserves and unleash him when his game is well rounded.

Having said that, if he is selected in the next fortnight or so I will be as excited as any and keen to see how he goes at the top level.
