That goal where he plucked it one handed from the ruck, back tracked then snapped... wow. The degree of difficulty was right up there, it was an amazing piece of play that hasn't received the kudos it deserves.

Favourite was seeing him go back and slot that first sausage

Just my favourite player to watch. He just loves the game. Looks like he's having a ball every time he plays

He's up to 26 goals this season. Compare that to this time last year, he was only on 11 goals. Joe's growth and development of the last 12 months has been amazing to see.

I've been reading the main board too much because I was half way through reading this and expected it to say his growth and development is...'unprecedented'.

the best part is, half of the opposition supporters still haven't clued on. they still see him as erratic and inaccurate.

he's stepped up massively this season. THIS is his breakout year.

Just had a look at his stats - he's only had 8 tackles this year. This surprised me given he puts on his fair share of defensive pressure, but he obviously doesn't get in a position to tackle. It's even more surprising given he has time in the ruck every week where the contest is at his feet.

Don't get me wrong, I'm ecstatic with his performance this season but this stat took me completely by surprise.

I know he's a silly old fool but I think he's on the money!

“In two years Daniher will be the best player in the game,”

proclaimed AFL legend Kevin Bartlett on SEN radio during Essendon’s win over West Coast.

And this from Jono Brown.

“Paul Salmon was a great full-forward who played in the ruck as well and I would have thought Joey was more mobile than the Big Fish,”

And from Joe himself after the game.

”It’s a work in progress,” he said. “I know my kicking specifically is not where it needs to be and my game in general is not where I want it to be.

“So I’ve just got to keep working and keep working with the group of guys that we’ve got, and hopefully some good stuff is around the corner.”

Joey is the AFL version of a "Unicorn"!
