Most people at the old country fair go to the Aunty Sally or the skittles. Personally I am fond of the number 11s in park cricket. Some are often the life blood of their teams. They have a crack even if they are hopeless. They are often funny and are sometimes the core of their team. It is important I think to laugh with and not at these enthusiastic cricketers. Rarely do they big note it over others.

The Demons and Wonders - along with many visitors to the match and other related threads provided quality banter by the truckload. None of it was spamaramaville. None of it was hacklneyed Gyfsomania.

I think every participant in the thread had a riotously good time. A lot of folk put a lot of effort in and suspect many are tuckered out. Such legendary threads cannot be achieved every week, they are simply too time and energy consuming.

The Bombers like every team has some high quality posters but it does have a number of spacfillers. That's ok. On balance you have a few folk who dig in.

I too think our Mods do a pretty good job and we largely self regulate. I have no interest in what Ava wrote or which Mod deleted the post. I am just pleased Ava is back and normal service from her will resume.

The mods do a fantastic job, no doubt about it. It is a thankless task and I think they do a great job.

Now here's the thing.

When it's 'front of house' here in a SFA thread for example, banter is king.. Anything, as long as it is within site rules is acceptable.
In the past, I've overstepped the boundaries of what is acceptable and even what is in good taste and have been whacked accordingly.
Each and every time, I've had a civil discussion with a mod..no grandstanding..no banter...no name calling. That shit is for the threads and all ads to the theatre of the SFA.

So when a mod resorts to name calling and sarcastic responses in a PM, then I don't think that is acceptable. Keep personal feelings and prejudices out of poster/Mod PM interactions and save them for the cut and thrust of a match/media thread.
