Hey Chris you know you don't need to scroll down a thread?
Just click on the last post, poorly highlighted in purple blob.

I suspect he meant he had to scroll a long way down the index page to find the Morph thread.

I have to agree with Joey K that Morph was probably deserving of just two votes today. Well, she was deserving of three, but Hurley was more deserving of them.

Yep about the index.
I rate Ally's contested marks very highly.
It will be interesting to see how the coaches see it. Certainly Morphett and Hurley our two best.
Moloney will get something for sure, probably Morrison too. Prespakis down a bit after a strong start.
Molloy, Fish and Gardiner probably our next best. Gardiner's kicking let's her down a bit. Molloy improved our midfield significantly.

Molloy improved our midfield significantly.
The lazy journalists will describe Molloy as having a quiet game after her red hot start to the year, ignoring the fact that last week she played mostly as a forward and this week mostly as a midfielder. All our mids scrapped and hustled, some did more than that. But whenever Molloy touched the ball something classy happened.

She really is the Isaac Heeney of our team - wouldn't it be great to have two.

But to get this back on Morphett...with Reid gaining in confidence, I wonder if there's scope to park Morphett in our forward line for a period each quarter. With Molloy mostly in the midfield, our glaring weakness is a tall, marking target in front of goal. Ham maybe can be that, but she's better value running into the forward line.

I've just been half watching the Port Suns game - where Port have just busted apart the previous record for the highest score in a game - and one thing they have is several tall marking forwards, including Sholtz, who is probably Morph's biggest rival for "best big, athletic ruck in the comp". Sholtz just kicked three goals.

Feel a bit for Shaw, having now suffered two beltings in two weeks. This week was tough for them because they lost Girvan within the opening few minutes (plus another player not long after and had Rowbottom battling on with a bung shoulder). I have no idea how many goals we might have been able to kick last week had it not been for the stoic efforts of Girvan.

Our midfield without Molloy was good enough to overcome Richmond and GC but not Geelong.
Our forward line was only just good enough to overcome Geelong with minimal time from Molloy. We now have three pretty winnable games to work on the issue as Liz, I and others have referred to. I hope we will do a bit of experimentation to find that next step.

Interesting stats. I think we competed pretty well versus the stats from Geelong's previous opponents and I sense this was their best hit out so far in how they executed and the effort they showed. They hit us with everything.

Disposal efficiency was in the 60 % range in all the games and I think ours around 65% was the highest of all.
A couple of easy goals from Laura and Montana would have made our inside 50s more comparable.
Adelaide completely came home from the back half. North Melbourne played keeping the ball off the contested side like we did in the second quarter when we came back
Great stat collecting. I only watched the final quarter of the Crows Cats game so I don't know why the Cats weren't able to get the score on the board while they were in control in that game. But against us, Moloney's ability to take a mark to give an easy shot on goal hurt us a little. And we didn't have quite the same target with Molloy running around in the middle.

Imagine having Morph up there to kick to...

I think that was the big scare for us. The ability of a good marking forward like Moloney who received really good service for them. Ash played behind her a few times but fixed that up later in the game.
Im also really curious...I felt like Julie and Amelia weren't playing at times especially Julie. I think Geelong really targeted their entries well mainly to Moloney.
Yes it would be nice to have the morph power. Im sure if we only had one morph choice we'd all pick a few different players.
Amelia did well to go right when Darcy motioned for her to do so and open up space for Chloe but I cant remember what else she did. Perhaps thats where we need Bec or Lexie or Giselle but maybe Amelia did more than that structurally and with pressure

Whether it's because we have almost no height or not, it's stil interesting/enjoyable to see the Swans play 2 rucks.
