Wondering if anyone can help me.

I heard a while back that playing blank 80 minutes CD-R/CD-RW's etc in home CD players, can cause damage to the player and recommended only using 74's.

I find this hard to believe as 90% of all disks seem to be 80/700mb's but it has still got me thinking.

Can anyone confirm whether or not this is true or just a heap of ****?

In general terms, bull****.

It's possible it'll do it to one model of one brand, or something isolated like that, but it's not going to be a problem in the vast majority of CD players.

That said, if you're really worried, just don't use the extra six minutes.
