not that i support the sack TW, showbag, but if you dont keep your eyes open and think a little independently, instead of just believing in someone's words, there is another side to the argument to, and if you dont understand, a swfit assesment of the situation sometimes gets you soemhwere, otherwise you might end up wating 5 years for soemthing that doesnt happen, just like another block of 5 years, not to long agao, where we needed to keep the coach, that kind of brought us to the brink.
If you and most importantly the brains trust at the tiges are not felxible in their thinking, i.e. yeah we believe in TW, but yes, we are professionals that hold positions at a club, get paid well, because wwe are suppose to be smart, then if they dont leave their options open and blindly hang on someone's words, then a lack of pro activity, coupled with a lack of success, because you werent pro active, most certainly will bring about the end of the footy club.
One thing you should never lose sight of, the lack of died in the wool tigers that are running the tigers at the footy level. ANd they should not lose sigth of the supporters that never let that out of their sights.

I totally agree with what you are saying, however, now is not a time for thinking of being pro-active on a coach with 4 of 5 years remaining on his contract, as 76 gamer outlined. Our club could almost go under were it forced to pay out a contract of that magnitude and the search for a replacement would mean that we had to overpay, because we simply would not have club stability to offer as part of the package.

It concerns me more that we could possibly accept what this joker suggests, rather than dismiss him straight away. It pains me to think about Richmond as an apathetic club, hopefully, we're just building for a big turn around.

I don't beleive that the lack of died in the wool tigers running our football club can mean too much in reality. Football is a business, look at the most successful clubs and coaches and how they are run. The Eagles, Swans, Crows and Lions all lead the AFL in on and off the ground management. Player management and facilities are first class.

This is the main problem with Richmond. We have not embraced this concept. We still believe that the way the old Richmond worked is the only way the new Richmond can work. I'm sorry, but that is rubbish. We lack a winning strategy because there is no culture of success anymore, players are accepted for their failures and we do not make them accountable because of lack of depth.

We just can't do this until all of our past glories are written off as history and we make a decision to move towards the standards that are being set now, there is no hard evidence that I have seen that our progression on and off the field in 2006 is an improvement on 2005.

But this is still a formative year, I believe the results and pressure to perform will really hit home in 2007/08. I just hope the club can make a professional effort in all areas to keep pace with this.

One - 1980. I was at the G in 1982 when we got done by Carlton and at Waverly Park in 1994(?) when we got done by the Dons in the pre-season comp.

Who do you rate as the best ever Richmond player and why?
Tough one but I'd have to say Nida. His three-bounce runs out of the centre that day against Essendon was genius. That and Scott Turner's brutal shirtfront on O'Donnell killed the Dons that day. Great stuff! I was also a huge fan of Bazza Rowlings, Bruce Monteath, Peter Welsh, Mervyn Keane and Chris Naish (just kidding!).

Which of the Clokes do you hate the most?
Another tough one but I'd have to say Travis.

How many brothers have you got and how many of them support Richmond?
Three brothers - all Tigermen.

Malthouse for sure. Does anyone remember the shirtfront MM put on so-called Carlton tough guy Piggy Harmes in about 1981? Awesome. I loved Malthouse as a player, but I hated the way he turned us down for the coaching position - he just laughed at the idea of coaching the Tigers. I don't really mind that much that Sheeds turned us down, his best coaching days were behind him long ago.

It's a toss-up between Mark Eustace and Brett Burton, but probably Eustace.

Rioli was probably more effective in the centre for a longer period of time than Raines, but it was a tragedy that GR mismanaged the recruitment of Maurice and the retention of Raines. Raines was at the pinnacle of his career, but he could have developed into a very damaging Buckley-style rebound player that could have been thrown into the centre or on the ball to mix things up. It would have been great to have kept him around the place but it wasn't to be. Raines and Hart? Easy - number 4!

In which of his 5 seasons should Danny Frawley have been sacked?
Well, we should never had appointed him in the first place (Bomber Thompson was my pick) but the back end of 2003 was the last straw for me.

I've tried to speak to KB about this but I get the same reaction everyone else does - NFW. I wish he could get over it but he just won't let it go. For the record, KB doesn't disagree with his dismissal, it's just the way it was done. I don't mind SEN.

10 (Sheeds) when I was a kid and 17 (Maurice) a little later on in schoolboy and amateur footy.

It's always complicated when a club champion doesn't want to go, but the lad was struggling to get up week to week. That said, the fact that there was bad blood there means that the Club could have handled it better.

I hear this so often but I just can't see it. Sure, Campo was a receiver, and those little kicks he and daffy used to do annoyed the crap out of me, but I've seen him cop plenty over the years. But you did ask about the softest captain and although I don't believe that Campo was chronically soft, he probably was our softest captain.

Cricketers Arms followed by the Corner, the Vaucluse and the Swan.

I agree. But he's entitled to think and say what he wants. The clubs not going to sack Wallace over what one guy posts.

I dont agree with him that we should sack Wallace, but I do agree with him that wallace talks a lot but hasnt shown much in the way of coaching. That he is a shameless self promoter and landed himself a long contract as the highest paid coach in the AFL. And that if it doesnt look like its going to work out, he'll be the first to jump ship and run off to another club or a plum media job.

I think you've just hit the nail on the head, 1980.

TW is a big talker who, to date, has done nothing at Richmond except take our money. Last year wasn't too bad, except my grandmonther could have done better than Frawley, and this year should be better. But it doesn't look like it's going to happen at this rate.

Wallace needs to be on the same performance-based deal that anyone else is. If we wait too long all our young potential stars will go to better performing clubs in the hope of playing in a premiership. And then where will we be? The same place we've been for the past dozen years.

I just don't understand why you blokes won't even consider giving Wallace a bit of a spray?

I'd say you'd be pretty happy when the whole lot of us are calling for Tezza's head and the rest they say is history - see previous years where we've sacked coaches.
