I know it's very early, but I had a glance at the old Baileys Ladder predictor and after plugging in what i thought are expected results the Tiges and Saints will not be separated by more than a win from here on in. This week may just be the most important game for the year. Im calling it now, 8 point game! :) #gettingaheadofmyself

Relax dude its a 4 point game. At the end of the day i am pretty confident that whoever loses this one aint gunna put the cue in the rack any time soon..
For me its purely another test for the tigers. They have now backed up some good form against contenders with an emphatic win against a contender. Now the test is to back that win with a win against a team who is if not just ahead, around the same place as where our base should be and make it 2 in a row and forge into the 8..its all about taking the next step for us..if we do fail its no biggy in terms of where we are heading, future wise. If however we do take the next step, we are pretty much ahead of where we "should" be and basically fast tracking into the upper levels of the 8..;)

I reckon we'll win by more than that

I just did my prediction ladder and I'm getting ahead of myself, we finished 8th, Geelong finish 9th, we play Carlton in the first week of the finals and knock them off, West Coast beat Essendon who finished 4th, we play Essendon in the semi and knock them off and advance to the Prelim.

Collingwood beat Adelaide in their qual final and book a place against us in the Prelim. Adelaide then go on to play Hawthorn who knock them out and play West Coast in the other Prelim.

Unfortunately the fairy tale comes to an end as our greatest foe Collingwood beat us in the Prelim and play West Coast in the GF (oh the preliminary's a cake walk for collingwood)

Then I couldnt careless about the GF as I turn to the grog all week.

Only 8 points? I think more. This is a big game for Tiges. Looking at it one game at the time, if Tiges can beat the Saints then I really do think we will be in finals footy but don't want to jinx them. One game at the time ....breath in and out and calm down. :) Can't wait till Friday night.

You never cease to amaze.
I laughed.

But I do tend to agree, this is a must-win game if we're going to play finals. These are the teams that we need to beat, the Saints, Roos, Doggies, the teams we have consistently lost against over the years.

Nah, its still a 4 point game for me

Point 1: Richmond players must turn up
Point 2: At Etihad stadium, not the MCG
Point 3: And must have their jumpers on
Point 4: And run out on the ground.

Called it as a crunch game for us back in April. Massive game for us, especially with the Saints good form in the last few weeks.

22 rounds

Assuming 13 wins needed for finals this year. Therefore we can lose upto 9 games.

At 1-4 not even half way there yet, no sides season is over by round 5.

I agree with Santa, that this year isn't necessarily about making finals but about improving...but we should still be in the mix towards the end of the season.

From the fixture lists previously posted a couple of things stand out.

1) the run of 6 games between St Kilda and Carlton - all 6 are winnable, our form in that period will define our season.

2) the St Kilda game. Not beaten the Saints since 2003. (?) They are a side in decline, but still have enough talent and experience to be very damaging. Exactly the sort of side we should be beating if we really are on our way up.
