G'Day guys, I have this problem in my bedroom with spiders.. I am almost certain that there is a nest somewhere.
I've looked everywhere for a nest but can't find it anywhere.

Anyway, I was just wondering if there's anything that I can buy or make that I can just sit in my room on a shelf or something to "repel" them?

Thanks.

Go to your local hardware and buy an Insect Bomb.
Just let if off in your bedroom, close the door and leave it closed while you're at work.
Even better, buy two or three and do your whole house.
It will kill all insects and keep them away for about three to four months.

I haven't tried this, but I just did a quick google search and found this natural non-toxic repellent:

Spider repellent spray, mix together 200mls of water, 10 ml's of alcohol (gin or vodka), 5 drops of eucalyptus oil and 5 drops of lavender oil, shake well and spray (note this will not kill the spiders, just repel them).
Very cheap diluted detergent in a squirter bottle sprayed on webs can cause them to dissolve (Ed.)

It suggested to spray the concoction in corners of the room and furniture legs, etc where spiders like to make their webs.
Check out central heating vents the nest might be in there.

Thanks, I'll give that a try and let you know how it goes.
Spiders aren't exactly my favourite thing in the world :p

Isn't there a stat somwhere that says we eat on average 5-6 spiders in our lifetime when we're sleeping. Can u imagine that from the spider's perspective? "La di da! n0o00o0o000000o". So just think of it as added protein :p

Fire

Fixes everything else

Gas does too. We found rats had dug a viet cong style tunnel system under our yard. Unfortunately for them we found the 2 exits...
On 1 opening we had the bbq gas bottle pouring gas in, the other my dog...
Didn't stand a chance.

We couldn't light a match or light the bbq for a few days to be safe :p

Try installing the rare spider eating Laotion baboon.

But try not to fall asleep while he's in there, because he eats people too. Surround your bed with bananas and newspaper so you can hear him coming.

I tried this and haven't seen a spider in my room since, so I'm guessing it's working pretty well.
Thanks.

No worries, I can't take much credit, I just googled it and it was the first thing that came up.

On another note, I had an issue with pigeons on my balcony. They are my Dad's pigeons and the aviary is right next to the balcony. They thought it was an awesome perching spot to shit everywhere. I would scare them away and the same few would come back 5 minutes later. So I hung cds/dvds with some thin wire from the roof around the edges. Not a pigeon in sight now...

:D:thumbsu:

Also sometimes it makes look it like I have a discoball in my room ^^

Just thought I'd put this out there in case someone else has a problem with these filthy birds. Honestly I don't know what possesses my Dad :p
