Clearly beacause NicNat is so great a whole board must sponsor him rather than an individual.

Communal sponsorship thread ftw.

Naitanui the ideal ruckman: Primus

HE'S fast, nimble and lays a crunching tackle, but Matthew Primus says the best thing about young Eagle Nic Naitanui is he arrived a decade too late. "I'm probably happy that I'm retired and not playing against him," said Primus, one of the AFL's premier ruckmen in the late 1990s and early 2000s.

That Pic of Nic and Brown is awesome.
Makes Campbell Brown look like a midget

Nic reminds me of Ronaldhino. Both play football the same way they did when they were kids.

I loved his goal, picked up cleanly and then converted nicely on the run:thumbsu:

Nic Naitanui was the leading vote getter for WCE in the AFL Coaches Association Champion Player of the Year scoring. He received 5 votes while Justin Westhoff (Port) received 7 and Josh Kennedy (WCE) scored 3. Of the 21 disposals that Naitanui had 20 were contested and with 9 clearances and 9 insides 50's he was unlucky to be nominated for the Rising Star Award.

Oh and he also equaled the hard ball gets record.

Round 3 vs North Melbourne

Again one of the few players who could hold his head up high.

I just wanted to say thanks for taking this guy Eagles. He is an absolute freak, I just love watching Eagles games now knowing he is going to be involved. He is just so exciting to watch. I am also so impressed with his rapid development. Last season he seemed very limited with his disposal by foot but it is clear that he has spent a lot of time on this over the pre season and he is now very reliable. It really looks like he is going to live up to his potential. It is astonishing that at just 19 he is already as good as he is.

I just can't wait to see how his career plays out, I am just so excited by him. Enjoy the next 15 years of his career boys it is going to be a sensational journey.:thumbsu:

IT BEGAN with a Superman leap of monumental proportions, and quickly snowballed into one of football's great urban legends.

Did Nic Naitanui's high jump of 1.96m at a high school carnival give him the chance to represent Fiji at the Olympic Games as a 17-year-old?

The story has repeatedly circulated that Naitanui reached the qualifying height at a schoolboy meet, but knocked back the chance to jump for Fiji.

Yesterday, the Herald Sun went looking for answers, and as often is the case, found the story was at least half-true.

Yes, magical Naitanui was so athletically gifted a career as an Olympic high-jumper beckoned.
