Don't have a prize, but anybody that is able to log onto the ammo's website on a Saturday night would surely deserve one. Is this possibly the world's worst website as far as trying to get it to load. As I'm not a computer nerd, I don't know the intricacies as to why it's so hard to do, but I'm guessing the vafa are too tight to pay for a decent server. Maybe if they use some of the money they rip off clubs for fines, they could buy a decent site?

You're right Eddie, I just tried to log into Football Victoria, and it's just as $hitfull.

always a challenge to get in there on a weekend.
I often find the results and ladders pages only half open.
very frustrating. old site seemed to work better.

and what are the chances of paying someone to update the bloody site often and within two days of the games being played! shocking

Perhaps I can shed some light on this given I'm a club secretary responsible for logging our 4 teams' results (including GK/BP) on the site, and also the C section Scribe who receives the A&B senior detailed results (including GK/BP), as well as all other section scores at 6.30pm every Saturday night.

A few points:

1. Sportal are responsible for the site, which cops very heavy traffic between 6pm and midnight on Saturdays with many people trying to get the game scores ASAP.

2. the VAFA do have a paid resource who receives, collates and publishes the details every Saturday afternoon/evening whilst we're playing, watching, coaching or everything above and drinking post-match. When I get those results by email from the VAFA by 6.30pm, they're also sent to Sportal for logging onto the site - so it's obviously not a problem at HQ, rather the site host which can't handle the traffic of inquiry.

3. There is a period of delay re: detailed results for all sections, and we're instructed to make sure our GK/BP for all sides are logged by us by 10 am on Monday (hence the 2 day delay). This also includes amending team sheets to allow for players not playing and chopping/changing between sides after Thursday selection.

4. Basically, if you can't get the GK/BP for your team until Monday 10 am, it's not the VAFA's fault, and frankly you can't expect your Club Secretary to have all 3, 4 5 or 6 sides details logged on, together with amended team sheets, within 45 minutes of the completion of those matches (especially if your Secretary is a current player!!)

5. In my experience, the system this year is far better than the previous one for several reasons. However, if you've got a better idea of how to manage the situation, feel free to propose it on this forum.

Phew - hope that helps.

I have logged in appoximately 6 times this season on a Saturday night to check scores. I have only had problems logging on one evening, and after trying to refresh a few times got on about half an hour later. In most cases the scores and ladders were updated.
