lol ... none of that! :D

The school where my mum sends my little brothers and sister to has been 'forcing' her and other to pay a 'voluntary' contribution to the school. Because she has refused to pay it, by siblings have been threatened that they'll will be kicked out for not paying it, as most other parents have. Mum and me bros and sis have been singled out by the principal.

Unfair when you consider that it is a 'voluntary' contribution

Reporter will be around at 8am. Damn ... i'll miss it. Be at work by then! :D And footy tonight ... so i'll also miss it on the TV. Dammit! ;)

If she can afford it she should pay it

Schools need these funds to survive

It is also not fair some kids parents pay the moeny but get the same service that those who don't

Of course if there are financial difficulties that is antoher matter.

Thought I would put my ore in, even though I don't know all the facts

how much is it out of interest??

Its around $150 per student per year... and she has 3 that go there. That's $400 ontop of everything else (books, uniform, excursions etc).

The problem is that it is 'unlawful' for public schools to demand this. Mum has/had it tough enough (bringing up the 8 of us) to have to deal with this also. She has 2 other kids that are not school age yet.

So yeah ... it's a financial burden on her ... but mum is doing this in principal more than anything else. :)

Grrr ... don't even think about going anywhere NEAR my lil princess Hutman!!

Jars ... the young lady in question in 8 years old! She is Grade 3!!! You see ... Hutman has some 'issues' that he has to deal with. ;)

Good on her! I'm all for people standing up for themselves against the 'powerful' institutions.

Good luck to her :)

I'll be at the game tonight as wel, so I don't get to see this. Good luck though

Thanks for the info Topdon. An interesting topic

But I can certianly see why your mother is upset. Good luck to her.

And Hitman - you have serious problems Son!;)

Thanks guys.

Haven't seen the promo for tonight's show, but she is definitely on it tonight.

How suprising to find out that the Head Master didn't want to be interviewed this morning. Gutless wonder if i ever saw one.

I'll tape it ... watch it when i get home from the game.

Topdon's mother is no public speaker, but good on her for having the guts to stand up for the Topdon family's right to a free education. Pretty gutless of the principal not to front and send the secretary out, and he certainly had no right to try to intercept the family's education allowance.
As for that beaurocrat, she is to telling straight answers what Tavare and Boycott were to attacking batting.

Good luck for your brothers and sisters in their new school Topdon.

Hey, you didn't seem to mind me piggy-backing her across the Colonial Stadium bridge. ;) She even was chanting for Hawthorn against Collingwood in that Wizz Fizz Cup match. :D

Anyway, why does she need to go to school? She was reading at the football. :p

The Hitman

Bitch!! :D

Still haven't seen the tape ... but you're right Bomber Spirit ... mum certainly aint no public speaker. Just standing up for what she believes in. Kids will be much better off at their new school.

As i've said ... the principal is a gutless dweeb!
