Well fancy that...

A win against the Hawks would secure Sydney a top two finish with a game to spare and home ground advantage potentially through to the preliminary final.
Demetriou, for one, is impressed. "They have some exciting young talent and are a joy to watch and will go a long way this year," Demetriou said.
"They are doing a superb job especially on the back of an introduction of a new team. We thought this would be a positive for the Swans. I think they have responded off the field and they've responded on the field."

Barstard!!!!

Why couldn't he be ignorant like everyone else???

Say we are playing ugly and doing nothing but flood...

Wonder if now journos will actually do some research and report on how we're ACTUALLY playing.

It wouldn't make a difference to us down here in Melbourne us playing well wouldn't sell papers :p

People would rather read stories about how the Dog's were gallant in defeat.

Just an apology piece for the 2005 comments. He's been out of the country for the past 2 months, so it's fair to say he'd have NFI how we have been playing...

This.

Hawks this year: 6-8-7-9-11-11-9-6-8-6-6-5-6-6-5-4-3-2-4-4-2

Swans this year: 1-4-3-2-2-3-5-4-5-5-2-4-2-2-1-1-1-1-1-1-1

The lowest we have been is 5th..and been hovering between 1 and 2 for 3 months now..while the hawks have dropped as far as 11th..not once in 1st.

But hey lets all give them respect because they have been blitzing quality sides like GC and GWS a few times this year.

WTF i didn't even read that stupid article. He said that?!

So in a way the swans are doing really good becasue of him, thats what he is saying. Because without him, the great vlad, not bringing in GWS then we would just been a complacent club happy to trug along in 8th spot.

Thanks vald.

I wish Lethal in that 1983 game actually did damage to this fat ****. Very ordinary player, apparently was as dumb as a doorknob in those days. Seems he is just as pathetic in his fatter latter years.

Never forget Vlad and his bull****

Which is exactly why we shouldn't hang our hat on the win in Tasmania. Hawks were struggling at the time. Much better outfit now.

Something people need to remember is they played a lot of decent teams at the start of the year. Doesn't mean they were 'struggling' just because they lost to teams they could be expected to lose to.

Hey we have only played GWS and GC once, but met Collingwood and Geelong twice, and play West Coast a second time next week. I believe we started slow, had a difficult draw early, but have built in the middle of the season. Should be a great game, and could go either way.

It was still a while ago though and a lot of water has passed under the bridge since then. I'm just wary of the Hawks, that's all. I'm just unsure on how this one is going to go. A lot more nervous for this than i was with the Collingwood game, i knew that one was going to be a tight affair. But the Hawks seem to have had this extra gear in attack at times this year and blown teams away. If they find it on the weekend, i think their forward line is going to be very, very hard to stop. Not just this weekend, but for the flag.

True - but remember, we have played many teams which were apparently coming into form, and we blew them away. The attack of the Hawks against the swarm of the Swans will be fabulous.

One thing thats changed this year is when teams have put us away in the first or 3rd qrt or come back in waves we just contain them and then pow in a burst of 5 minutes we just score 5-6 goals. This is something that premiership teams like Geelong and the pies were doing in their premiership year.

The hawks might be in front by 5 goals at half time like in tassie..but i am really confident that we will be able to contain them and beat them by 6 goals in the end. I really am this year.

I think that was a big turning point as a fan, to see this side can actually run over the top of teams and is never out of the game because it can score quickly.

I think we are actually one of the quicker sides now, you wouldnt know that following the experts.

To be honest i was really confident about the Collingwood game i felt so disappointed aftermath similar to losing in 06 not kidding either, i am wary for tomorrow maybe something to do with the first quarter against the Dogs at all costs we cannot start that slow especially at the SCG.

Franklin i believe is gonna be the decoy to Hale/Roughead/Gunston i don't care how good you are 6 weeks out of football against Teddy you are gonna struggle, Roughead on Grundy worries me.
