I had a spare couple of hours yesterday so I was having a look at the Tigers v West Coast, Round 5 this year:
3 goals, 12 disposals, 6 marks
The following whitewash against Geelong:
3 goals 3 behinds, 14 disposals, 8 marks
thats 9 shots at goal in 8 qtr's of footy in your 4th & 5th games of senior footy. Showed some pace & awareness + strong marking.
WTF you doing playing Coburg 2nds at the end of the season? What happened?
Mate, you have a tremendous opportunity to carve out a significant AFL career at one of the Big Clubs during a comming period of great revival if you would only just grasp it! Come on pal, knuckle down and come along for the ride. We Tiger supporters are just dying to cheer you on.
So pull your finger out... and I am not referring to the babes on your My Space page.

However he is only 20 years old and has played two years of AFL. With another preseason behind him he should be ablet baulk up a little more and try and make a bigger impact next year.

IMO he is ahead of Casserly and well ahead of JON from the same draft and from Meyer the draft before.

It just seems that he got a little lazy toward the end of the year...needs to pull his finger out around the club and hit the training track. I think the argument isn't "why isn't he kicking 2 goals a game and why hasn't he cemented himself as our CHF yet" but rather "wtf did he end the season badly and where are his second and 3rd efforst at coburg"

and the girls are most likely dying to do something that is the opposite of "on". So there in lies the prublem.

If he is I have seen absolutley no evidence of that. Playing in VFL Reserves he was below average. In fact his only play seems to be on the lead. Can't take an overhead contested mark, no second efforts, often leads from alongside and gets wrong sided, and when it hits the deck its all over. A great mark out front on the lead and a glorious kick but....sorry that aint enough to get you a spot in an AFL side. No point being a great kick when you can't get one.

Thats what has got me stumped!
All the stuff you list above as not being in his game I agree... 2nd half of the year was not in evidence. But looking at the WC game the signs were there.
That would suggest it's a problem between the ears and hence the frustration!

Maybe that is the problem. They are at a club that they don't want to be at. Interstate youngsters reruited to go away from their home states often have trouble adjusting. Delist them and see if they are picked up at home.

Cleve is never going to play that well at VFL level.
If he has a good enough pre season lock him in for HFF for round 1 and he will lever look back.

People keep complaining about our recruiting but its not as if we have picked 3 duds who dont ever look like playing AFL. They are all extremely talented players, who could be more then just solid. I think this shows we need more leadership and development people at the club to guide these young guys.

I agree with you, out of the 3 SA boys, I think Meyer would be the only really keen one to get back to South Australia. Schultz probably knows his time is almost up and Hughes clearly loves it here

Amen to that. I never wanted Sheedy to coach the club but we could do a lot worse than him and or a modern day Haffey figure spending a few days a week down at the club with the young blokes.

i think i can honestly say we have a few great forwards like hughes an schulz that could be awesome if they pulled there finger out.

we have high hopes for these players but i think they are lazy an need a good kick in the bum.they have talent but lack the hard work.

Gary ablett jr last year play ok but nothing special this year he was a superstar why???

we need to tell a few of our young guns to step up there work rate. lids,schulz,hughes they need to look no further than axle foley on how hard work pays off last year he played a few games but no one thought he would have a season like this year he was our best player because he worked hard trained hard

5th in B&F and only played 19 games and the last three of those with a broken hand.
Tagged every week.
Higher average possession rate after 3 seasons than both Luke Ball and Luke Hodge and just short of Judd.
