Just remember that there are Muslims, and there are Muslims who blow up pubs.

There are parents, and there are parents who beat thier kids.

Pidgeon holing is neither intelligent or usefull.

Which is why such a sensible, down to earth approach to unwanted pregnancy like abortion is the method of choice. :(

Whether or not you agree/disagree/undecided on the abortion issue, you have to admit that terminating a life is rather 'extreme'...

My point (however unintelligent or unuseful) was that using the expression Pro Life is very dangerous.

To quote the late great Bill Hicks

i must say (dreads wading into this debate...but still)

you consider conception to be the point of life....but when is the embryo human?

is it thought processes? is it genetics? what?

i feel that it is the development (not potential) of sentience. Once the feotus can think and have recognizable brain activity (and more than just a fish, or amphibian) it should be considered human.

before that, it is no worse than killing a cow or pig.

In most cases yes but when a pregnancy is the result of rape then no I dont I actually believe it to be the kind thing to do! Who wants to live knowing they were the result of such a terrible crime!!!!!!!

My body; my choice!
It is no one else's business.
A woman has the right to choose whether or not she wants to have a child.
A woman is not a breeding machine or an incubator for a foetus, simply because some holier than thou people try to make her feel guilty.
Most abortions are performed between 6 - 12 weeks.
At that stage the foetus is neither male, nor female.
It has no central nervous system, therefore by legal terminology it is not actually living because it has no mental activity. The foetus is not a human being it is a potential human being. The only human being involved is the woman!

And as for your arrogant insistence on adoption! Research shows that more women suffer deeper regret, guilt and remorse after adopting a child out than they do after an abortion.
But who the hell do you think you are anyhow to tell a woman she can adopt? What gives you the right to tell a woman she must go through with the pregnancy she doesn't want because at the end of it all she can adopt the child out? You have no right!
So let me reiterate, okay? It's my body, it's my choice. It's my life, it's my decision. It's no one else's business.

there was no murder. murder is a legal fiction. what was done as done legally. therefore no murder.

I'm afraid that there is nothing you can say to sway me. In my opinion and understanding, abortion is murder, whether or not it is legally calssified that way or not.

You are obviously strong in your belief too, let's leave it at that.
