Just finished watching the Brisbane game.
About the only good thing to come out of that game was that our youngsters are looking pretty good. Aside from the first quarter, they did all right against the best side in the league. There were some really good signs coming from the likes of Hentschel, Reilly, Schuback and Gallagher. Scott Stevens was pretty good too, except for shots on goal.
Actually, the first quarter we were loaded up with all our regular talent (Roo, McLeod, Goodwin, etc.) and you could almost make the argument that it was the young guys who created the "comeback".
On another note, I've been thinking about Carey's role in our forward line and I think that most of you guys are right when you suggest he should be moved to a forward pocket. The reason I say this is because I'm thinking back to the way he played with the Roos, which - in a lot of situations - was to push the ball forward (rather than mark it) and then run on to it, out maneuvering his opponent and eventually kicking a goal.
Maybe he just can't play any other way.
Thoughts?
