Basically Vinendi, a French Telco giant, is looking to sell their 60% majority share of Activision in order to raise $10bn.
The interesting thing is that one company who has expressed interest in the acquisition of the share of Activision is Microsoft. They have the money and co-incidentally they also own one of the big 2 consoles that Activision publish on, the xbox 360. Now xbox already have a contract which allows xbox gamers priority access to Activision's flagship franchise, Call of Duty.
Doomsayers are suggesting that their is a possibility that if this sale were to pass, bearing in mind the next gen consoles are nearing, that one of the biggest multiplatform titles around could be released on one platform less in the near future... xbox (MS),playstation (SCE), PC (MS)....
Possible? Maybe.
Would you PS guys even care?
