The club signed this bloke early in the year...I think (correct me if I'm wrong), for a further 2 years. He has been in & out of the WP side for the last 2 seasons, tried mainly as a FF or pinch hitting in the ruckk. From the times that WP have been on the tv, it looks as though he has a great kick on him & solid mark, but he can't read the play all that well....I think he came from a rugby background?

My point is...surely the club (West Perth & Freo), should try this bloke as a FB or CHB. He has good size about him, looks as developed if not more than Murphy in the arms & shoulders. I just think that with Haddrill out for the year & Polly having a shocking one, surely we should have trialled Campbell in the backline. Does anyone know why not?

Wouldn't mind seeing Murpny go back also come to think of it...

He is a K1W1 and only took the game up a few years ago.
It will take a bit of time to learn to read the play which was not helped by him missing a large chunk of 2004 with injury.

At the start of the year we seemed to have an oversupply of defenders and a shortage of key forwards.
I reckon that the reason he hasn't been trailed back is that MJ has stood up and deserves to be persevered with.

I would think that Rabbit Warren would be next cab off the rank in defense (4 weeks away) at this point in time.

Campbell has all the physical attibutes as you say, just needs to learn the game. As he has just turned 20 he has a bit of time on his side yet.

We may be a bit glum about things at the moment but down the track we will be oozing KPP options.

You both make very good points. Campbell looked an exciting prospect at times last year but his development seems to have stalled.
