Adam Goodes

Just watched his interview on 'Open Mike' with Mike Sheahan.

What an impressive guy.

Have always admired the way he goes about his football and he seems to be a terrific person off the field as well.

If the AFL are wanting to appoint an indigenous person on the Commission going forward, they could do worse than go with Adam Goodes.

Very articulate, a good sport, and good taste in women! He was going out with a kindergarten teacher from my daughter's school, and she is very, very hot. (Sadly, they seem to have broken up)

Is there a less talked about champion then Adam Goodes? On this site at least.

It was a great interview and really shows the character of the man. I'm just grateful he turned out to be a Swan and has given me so many memories of how he can take a game by the scruff of the neck whenever he's in the mood to do so.

Thought that was one of the worst Open Mike's. Mike had to keep bringing up the racism stuff because he had nothing else to talk to Goodes about. Goodesy looks like a good guy but he's pretty damn boring when interviewed, or basically just got nothing worth talking about it other than 1 topic.

Not Goodes' fault if Mike only talks to him it... he did also talk about the possibility of hitting 400, the Bloods culture, and the 05 Premiership, but sure.

I never used to like Goodes, with no particularly logical reasoning, but over the last few seasons I have come to see him for what he is: a gun of a player

So versatile, and terrific in whatever position he plays

Without much further thought, probably in the top 10 players I have seen play the game

He is an absolute champion and I enjoyed that interview. It's always refreshing to listen to footballers that are articulate and don't start every sentence with "Yeah, nah.."

He seems like a stand up fella and is without question one of the modern greats of the game, but I agree that as 'Open Mike' interviews go, it wasn't thrilling stuff. An over fixation on the racism issue from Mike's end, and alot of cliched responses from Goodes' end.

I think some of that has to do with him still playing. Ex-players tend to release the shackles and speak alot more freely and openly.

I'd prefer an Open Mike session with Alan Didak so we can find out what Didak was REALLY doing in a car with gun slinging killer!!

Follow it up with one on Swan & how he feels about disfiguring & disabling someone with his thuggery some years ago. (Correct me if I've got it slightly wrong).

That would probably top the Didak one.

But I agree..............................the Goodes one is boring in contrast!

its amazing with what he has accomplished in his career , and yet u still get the feeling as tho he is an underestimated player by most people in the football world... 2 brownlows , all aust , b and f , premiership and most likely play 350 games...we have never seen a player of his size that is so versatile , powerful , speed all in one package...and will never see again... one of the all time greats and in my opinion the best indigenous player in history

It actually did Geelong a favour having Goodes play last night. That was one of the worst games I've seen him play, understandable I guess after having a long layoff with injury but he was woeful and if he wasn't subbed off for Everitt the Swans probably would have lost the game.
