Nobody is going to tell me that any registered medical practitioner is going to sign off on this pseudo-science. I believe Adelaide's medico Dr. Marc Cessana, said as much. But, they still went ahead with it anyway. Which begs the question, "Why do clubs bother to have medical staff if they're going to marginalise them?"

“Mindfulness”

The charlatans love it
It's a real thing that works. The problem is Collective Mind had no idea how to teach it competently and actually made them mentally weaker.

AFL have veto right on board appointments, so effectively appoint the board. Even the ones we elect are vetted and put forward to us by our existing board.
It’s the same with the port board, and it’s effectively a handicap placed on our clubs. It’s a separate issue to this camp stuff, but it’s a damning indictment on the integrity of the league and should be addressed (but won’t)

It's probably the biggest over reaction to a Grand Final loss in footy history, Adelaide were the best team all year, but blew it on Grand Final day. The Tigers were pretty good also, no real shame in losing to them that year. I follow Geelong so i know what it's like to stuff up Grand Finals. However some wise acre has decided that the Crows were not tough enough and came up with this camp idea, camps are okay, but who was responsible for the outline of the whole thing and why the cone of silence when some players were not comfortable with it all? Fours years later and the ramifications are still being felt.

Haven't caught up on the whole thread. Does Pyke's name get mentioned as being accountable for the crap at Adelaide like the camp and the highly revered and successful "Power Stance"?
Couldn't agree more. Tex is copping it, Sloane is copping it, the board are copping it but barely a mention of Don Pyke who led the fake aggression and false bravadery

I’ve never known what is behind this state of affairs for SA teams. How did it come about?

Someone will have a better grasp of it than me about how it transpired but basically the powerbrokers behind the afl being Victorian want to have a controlling interest in Sa football plus the sanfl (who the afl dealt with) ****ed the Sa clubs over (there’s a list as long as your arm with ways the sanfl ****ed port and crows over - horrific stadium deal, ****ed our father son rules up, made Sa clubs pay for their licenses twice, bled both clubs of profits until they fought free and so on) because they’re old twisted campaigners who would cut off their nose to spite their face.

Who investigates the investigators? Seriously, the AFL Integrity department has always been a ****ing joke but eventually enough has to be enough. If their unofficial motto isn't simply a picture of a broom, then I'll be damned.

Myself and a coach stood up one session and demanded we tell each other what happened and the CEO or Football Manager (I cannot recall who exactly who) stood up and said we were unable to because the club had signed confidentiality agreements on everyone’s behalf.

Confidentiality agreements???? How much of a flashing red light did they need? Bloody hell. I though that sort of thing was for post-season piss ups, not pre-season camps.

Any summaries of Jenkins statement?
  • No real info given to players beforehand about what the camp would entail
  • JJ and other players already skeptical about what was going to happen
  • Doctors and welfare staff specifically excluded from discussions
  • JJ had a broken childhood, and this was used against him with the Camp staff shouting abuse at him and strongly encouraging other players to do so.
  • JJ and other players start protesting during the Camp once they see the abusive crap going on, are essentially bullied into shutting up for the "greater good"
  • Players encouraged to strongly abuse Tex Walker for "being our captain who let us down on the biggest stage"
  • Indigenous players begin raising concerns, JJ becomes the lightning rod for discontent and the one who presents the complaints to the club.
  • Club decides to exclude indigenous boys from the leadership group.
  • JJ protests and is labelled a troublemaker and disruptive influence, it's what encourages him to quit the club.
  • Feels deeply unwelcome at the club and will find it hard to go back until Club truly faces up to this and "difficult conversations are had"

Purely on the Indigenous stuff, the fact that Eddie hasn't been adequately supported by the AFL and Crows further proves my point that Indigenous Round is hollow bullsh!t purely driven for guernsey revenue sales.

No shit.

And ANZAC day is used as a gimmick to sell tickets and merch.

And the Ted Whitten game didn't raise any money for cancer research.
