Yes, I'm bored shitless here at work so decided to compile a list of Adelaide most capped guernsey numbers.

Adelaide has played a total of 387 games, so here are the top 10 most worn/famous Adelaide numbers:

  • 7 - 323 games
  • 32 - 315 games
  • 34 - 311 games
  • 11 - 302 games
  • 35 - 297 games
  • 26 - 291 games
  • 23 - 289 games
  • 9 - 274 games
  • 18 - 257 games
  • 3 - 249 games
And for a list of all the number totals:

Some interesting numbers there.

Gee...I know there's always a big deal made of #1 being a dud number at the club but 29 and 31 put up a compelling case.

With #1 it's also the lads that didn't/won't actually get to wear it.

Andrew Geddes, Matthew Smith, Alan Obst, Nick Gill.

Just a cavalcade of disappointment.

Yeah, true. I'm not sure which one of Smith or Obst is worse. One occupied a spot on the list for five years and never played and the other we are still paying because he was so crap that we didn't bother to wait for his second year.

Can't believe we got rid of David Gallagher after 28 games. He won a RS nomination didn't he ?

I cant believe he won a RS nomination or played 28 games for the AFC. Must be one of the most indecisive player to ever play AFL football. He took took way too long to dispose of the ball almost every time he had it. It would be interesting to see his holding the ball frees against versus his possesions. I'd be thinking 1 out of every 4 possesions. The other 3 were just poor disposals or other forms of clangers. He was shit, seriously, shit.

Gallagher was an infuriating player. He didn't lack courage and he could find the ball. He was just clueless as what to do with it when he had it and would invariably freeze and cough it up one way or the other..
