They dealt with Sydney on the SCG by 7 goals this afternoon. On a ground that didn't suit them at all, up against a team that really had a crack at them, they were still far too good.

They are the best team in the comp by a long way at the moment. Since their loss to Richmond they've won 6 in a row by an average of 69 points.

While a 92 point defeat is never excusable, we came up against a red-hot team and we just didn't show up. It doesn't mean the end of our season.

Take a deep breath. Save the vitriol for when the season's a write-off.

The season is very close to a write-off already. We have to win at least 6 - and most likely 7 of our last 8 to make the finals. If we miss out I hope all the supporters who trumpet the "just one of those days, blah blah blah" excuses realise what it means. I copped the same flak last year for daring to criticise the club after the Fremantle and Collingwood losses - losses which for us meant the difference between finishing top 4 or just out.

You know what - I don't really care how good Adelaide are. All I do care about is Geelong being the very best, and accepting a loss of any kind from any opposition disgusts me.

I guess it means if we played Adelaide in the finals Thompson would tell them - "have a crack, but don't worry if you lose, because it's Adelaide and they're great". Right? Because that attitude sickens me.

Yep, but it's not yet. That's the point.

I'm not accepting it, I'm rationalising it. Adelaide are showing everyone that they are clearly the best. Should everyone else give up?

Sickens me too, and once again, is not the point.

Overall, I'm just a bit sick of the hysteria. It's been a poor year, yes. It's not over yet. Chill out.

No one is accepting it...like catempire said, we are rationalising it.

[joke...or is it]I'm not panicking...because they will be picked up for blood doping or something before the season is out. Neil Craig...previous career...heavily involved in Cycling? :)[/joke...or is it]

:p

The thing that really worries me about Geelong this season is that in the 2 games we've played in that the coaching staff have said we've had the strongest team in for the last few years, namely the Adelaide and Collingwood games, we ended up losing by 15+ goals both times. Maybe they meant the strongest team on paper, but we all know the game isnt played on paper :p
