This is not a troll, but a simple question. Considering the crows are on the front page, the majority of the back page, and are on the entire front page of the sports section of todays advertiser, how can it possibly be said that the advertiser is anti-crows and pro-Port?

Far far too simplistic. It has nothing to do with quantity.

It is a common occurrence however. I would have thought a 5 goal come-back was bigger news than a loss. This is not intended to criticise the crows in the slightest, I just don't understand the advertiser sometimes, and the choices they make.

I'm in Sydney so I have no idea but wouldn't a majority of the Power news from the win have been in Sunday morning's paper?

Because the Adelaide Football Club is a marketable entity in South Australia.

The Advertiser position stories on the level of importance and they know the AFC headline will always increase distribution.

Sorry to say but in the eyes of the editors at the Advertiser a Port Adelaide Power victory is not as popular as a crows loss. Like FiveAA, it’s a commercial decision

There was some. But Monday is generally when the big write-ups occur, and any news from the weekends game is displayed on the front/back pages.
There are reasons for Adelaide supporters not to read the advertiser too (and I'm sure most of you know what the main reason is), but it would be nice to see a win acknowledged, rather than a loss!

No doubt. But sorry, I think that's disgraceful. There are many people out there who want to read about the Power (Yes, a lot of us can read). However, I highly doubt it would make a huge difference in the number of sales. The newspaper should deliver the news, and should represent both state teams equally.

I agree but sadly people are usually more interested in bad news. And yesterday's loss was bad news. Bad news bears.

You would be surprised – if it didn’t make that much difference they wouldn’t do it.

It’s common knowledge that the AFC and Michelangelo have a love/hate relationship. I seriously don’t believe that is just a coincidence and he writes the articles as a vendetta (he may get a little bit of enjoyment out of it) but he would write those articles because the editor know the most marketable sporting entity sell and in the long run negativity outsells something positive.

If such articles by Mr. R do indeed prove to be more marketable, I guess it's quite sad really.

The problem is that Rucci is like the total power of the advertiser, he gets more enjoyment over a crows loss than a power win and would rather sit there and gloat over the crows shortcomings rather than write about the power's perfomance.

DT was right it's not about the quantity, its about what is actually written, though I think it must be said that Rucci today was on his best behaviour.

You wont get an argument from me there, I think you are spot on.

The main problem is with Rucci as I said before he would rather write something that makes the crows look bad over something that makes Port look good. It's quite sad actually, did he write anything about Port today ?? He wrote about three articles about Adelaide, its his choice and as I said before he is more interested is what is happening negatively at the AFC more than anything else.

Let's see.
No remarks about the no-shows.
No reference to the Bassett bump likely to lead to a report.
He must be going soft.

I have never been a supporter on the aforementioned reporter. And I guess the advertiser and a whole likes to report on the negative.

First of all nice "not a troll"

The paper i saw in a shop had thorpe on the front you guys played Saturday so you would have got your fair share in that other port power media outlet [sunday mail]along with the 3 hour show on aa sunday morning another 3 hours of power and like dt said its all about quality not quanity we may get more but its all stick the knives in.

nice troll but:thumbsu:

The way I see it any Port Power supporter worth his salt would buy a copy of the Advertiser today just to read all about the 3rd best win in history ( to quote Wakelin ).

Therefore since youve already cornered the teal and blue market why not pitch the sales at that other forlorn mob:D

Bring back The News I say.

You have a declining membership this year, and have to rely on corporate sponsorship more than ever. Less and less people are interested in Port.

Simple. The Crows played the day before. Port two days before. In other words on Monday the Crows were current news and Port was a day old. When Port next play on a Sunday and the Crows on Saturday it will be reversed.

Admittedly, the Advertiser have only been using that method for the last 10 years, so it is a little bit harsh of me to expect a Port fan to pick up on that trend so soon. :D

I'd love to see The Truth make a return. :D :p

No Port supporter in his or her right mind would find an AFC loss better than a Power win. That's stupid.

It just shows me how swallow a perspective a Crows fan really has. What a nonsense projection.
