G’day all. I am going to the Pie V Ess game next week at the “G” . I’m from Tassie & have not been over for a while & in the past i have gotten a seat in advance. This time i am not buying tickets in advance & would actually like to stand. Could people advise me if this is a good idea ? will I need to buy a ticket in advance ? & what are the major downfalls of this (ie: viewing restrictions etc).
Cheers.

If you get to the ground early there should be no complications. I turned up on Anzac Day, about two hours before the opening bounce, and I got a standing room ticket.

Expect a crowd of 60k plus.
Get there early (around 6:00pm). You should be able to get standing room on Level 1 of the Southern Stand

Viewing restrictions are the major downfall but it's way better than the back row of the top level which I was in the PF final vs. Port. I just said fugetaboutit and went to standing room. Probably the best spot would be right infront of the goals Ponsford end but get there early.

A seat is still better and you would lose your spot in standing room.

Im coming to. Anything to get out of this dump.:D

I'm from Launny and I've seen my one Collingwood game for the year and it ended up being a shocker (Vs Freo)

My Dad got cheap seats, he got those level 4 (I think 4, it was up the top) seats, which I hated. It just didn't feel like a football match sitting all the way up the in air like that.

Next game I'm seeing is Hawks vs Roos at Aurora.

Here's a hot tip for Pie fans that people might not know about:

In games against lower teams (Essendon may count as one this year) if you enter Gate 3 at the MCG there is non-reserved seats available on level 1 in about 2 sections on the left hand forward flank Punt Rd end.

Got a good view of Did's goal of the week from the very front row of seats a few weeks back

Also got a good view of us play like duds

How did this turn into a Launny thing ???? Funny.
Anyway, thanks for the tips guys (especially Lockyer).

Oh, & Andrew, i only found out about my trip a couple of weeks ago as i am going to a course for work the following week (by myself).

PS, i think i will sit.

I'm originally from Hobart but it's not north vs. South thing, I just hate the place. Although then againt I don't like Hobart much anymore either.
Now I'm glad you ain't a moderator. :p

I was born in Launny, grew up in Hobart. I like em both!
