It does look good. He will need to send a couple of those mids to the emergencies though, as I think he's a defender and a forward short.
That's actually a good point. I haven't been tracking that at all in my side.

Uh, can anyone give me a friendly assessment of my eligibility for the rules of engagement because:

Right, I'll finish up my best 22 with Brennan Cox, who has thankfully spent time playing forward and back.

Leaving myself with a working best 22 of:

B: Mark O'Connor, Tom Jonas, Ben Paton
HB: Nathan Wilson, Charlie Ballard, Bailey Williams
C: Lachlan Weller, Zach Merrett, Dominic Sheed
HF: Jamie Cripps, Oscar Allen, Ian Hill
F: Daniel Butler, Ben King, Sam Day
R: Ben McEvoy, Dustin Martin, Jarryd Lyons
INT: Jackson Hately, Rory Laird, James Worpel, Brennan Cox

I'm pretty happy with that side.

And my final 22. Read it and weep boys, full house.

I'm pretty happy with that.

First Emergency Will Hamill

Golumless waiting on you.

Had to wake up at like 3am this morning but have a few mins so had a quick look.

I think you have virtually got it completely correct positions-wise. For some reason Fantasia is listed as a Defender on the AFL StatsPro stage, which I would argue is egregiously wrong. If you are worried about that, you can draft a forward and list them on the interchange instead of one of the defenders like Scrimshaw (who you can just put at first emergency). I think Wright would count as second ruck so you should be fine there.

At this point then I think just you need to draft one or two forwards and one defender in the remaining 8 picks (you would already have a defender in your emergencies if Scrimshaw is shifted there though). Otherwise you can take whatever positions you want.

Yeah, I'd love the same for my side. I've really just been trying to draft players who I thought could be multi-positional, but I've probably leant too far into players who could push into the midfield.

THE NEW FARM AVENGERS

FF:
Oliver Florent -- Rory Lobb -- Devon Smith
CHF: Jack Graham -- Elliot Himmelburg -- Tom Rockliff
C: Dyson Heppell -- Christian Petracca -- Andrew McGrath
CHB: Jake Lloyd -- Steven May -- Caleb Daniel
FB: Jack Bowes -- Callum Wilkie -- Brayden Maynard

1st R: Tim English -- Taylor Adams -- Ollie Wines

RES: Marc Murphy, Jared Polec, Isaac Smith, Hamish Hartlett

According to footywire, you have 6 defenders, 2 rucks, 11 pure mids, 2 pure forwards and 1 forward/mid

Where can we check player position eligibility ? .... thanks lads .
For the times I've calculated the numbers at the end of the season, I've used AFL Player Ratings which is now Stats Pro on AFL.com.au

Breaks down into ruck, midfielder, key forward, forward, key defender and defender.

I'm generally pretty lenient with dual position players. So if someone played both ends of the ground but is only listed as a forward and you needed them as a defender to avoid a penalty, that's fine. I'd use any evidence to avoid a penalty like possession heat maps or other sites like Footywire which is helpful for dual position mid/forwards who are almost all "midfielders" on Stats Pro.

For key position players they have to be listed as a key position in Stats Pro or obviously have played there in case the listing is wrong. Not as a medium tall.

Couple of examples on mid forwards are Jade Gresham or Christian Petracca who are listed as midfielders on Stats Pro but clearly have played significant forward time as well.

Of course this also applies to forward-defenders, midfield-defenders, ruck-forwards and so on

Not sure if you'd be interested Scorpus, but would you be willing to drop private messages to folks who you think might be relying on position qualification that maybe won't be approved?

For me, I'm relying on Devon Smith and Rockliff being mid-fwd and Lobb being fwd-ruck because they've had that assignation in AFL Fantasy in the past ...

I don’t think there is much doubt Lobb plays both forward and ruck, particularly when Sean Darcy is in the team.

Yeah, I'm probably fine. Another set of eyes might be useful while players can still change tactics, though.

Why are you crank Deaneus! ? Griffin, will or my delightful use of animated gif to show my team? Did it crash your computer?

I wanted Griffin Logue and thought he’d be fine to get to me, he played well last year, very well

Luke Jackson for my first emergency spot. Should get a few games for Melbourne.

Yeah I couldn’t believe he was there TBH. Was close to selection by the end of the year too.

Yeah sure.

Based on your squad as listed, I'd say the following:

Rory Lobb - Forward ruck, counts as both key position forward and ruck
Elliott Himmelberg - Forward ruck
Christian Petracca - Midfielder forward

Devon Smith - The guy is leaning towards more midfield than forward in 2020 and appeared to play significant time on the wing. But based on ratings at places like Footywire which has him as a mid-forward, and also his overall career, if it came down to it I would count him as a forward.

Tom Rockliff - Midfielder. Doesn't appear to play a lot of forward time based on 2020 stats:

I would say that right now you have 4 forwards, 2 key position forwards, 3 rucks, 7 defenders, 1 key position defender, plenty of midfielders.

I wouldn't rely on Callum Wilkie's rating as key position defender. He's only 191cm and isn't listed as KPD in Stats Pro

To be on the safe side I'd say you need to draft 3 additional forwards (to meet the 6+1 rule) and another KPD.

Whether you choose to put the guys in your listed best 22 or not doesn't really matter so long as I can see you have the guys in the squad somewhere
