Just got my PlayStation2 out of the closet for the first time in 6 months after i got a 40g PlayStation3.

The urge to play AFL Premiership 07 was to hard to resist so i strapped myself in and played a couple of games. Although it's not the best in graphics and mobility, but i still think it can go far.

Why did IR Gurus just stop making the game? The game will sell more issues year by year with customers buying more and more games for their new X-BOX 360, PS3 or WII. Fact is, their are more people buying these consoles every year.

The AFL has a huge supporter base and many love to play computer games. A lot of Australian people also own an AFL Premiership game also.

So what i'm really trying to talk about is....

Why did the games stop? Why end a great game which was being revolutionized each god damn year!

MAKE AFL PREMIERSHIP: 09!

Bring it back, please?

Agreed,
But i think that they stopped it because they werent selling enough.
Hopefully we wont have to wait that long.:)

Bring it back because it will sell!!!

Was it ever advertised? Was it ever advertised during AFL games where supporters would be watching?

its a painful cycle..

they don't have the budget to make the graphics and game play as good as we would want, because of that no as many people buy it which means they get less funds.

I would love, love, love to have an AFL game half as good as FIFA 2008 in terms of graphics and game play.

Exactly, but it is incredibly annoying. At least we have small companies willing to make answers to football manager, so we at least should get decent coaching games :thumbsu:. But why can't they make a decent AFL game :(

EA Sports
- Hire a bunch of Australian people who know the Australian Game
- Create an AFL Game.

Too ____ing simple but the cost is there also....

You know what they say?
Spend money to make money...

Shame EA Sports would never pick up an AFL game, since they only want to make games that have massive markets. Smaller manager games have the European markets. If EA Sports thought they'd make a worthy profit of it, they would've picked it up. Shame Australia itself will never become a huge market.

Even if an AFL 09 came out, it would be with the crappy graphics like the others.

There will never be another decent AFL game if they ever make another one at all.

As time progresses, producing a game becomes more expensive and time consuming. There simply isn't enough money in developing an AFL game for next generation consoles.

Whichever developer takes on the challenge would effectively be topping themselves.

Bring it on, but stuff this Sony exclusive crap. I know Sony are distributing the games now, but no wonder the sales are down when the game is only on one console. The last one I bought was AFL Premiership 2005.

If it were on the PC or 360, I'd buy it.

Yeah, I played AFL premiership the other day on my playstation 2 as well funnily enough, and thought the exact same thing. Some of the graphics aren't the best, but just the thrill of having the sherrin in your hands and to tackle and apply pressure to the opposition during gameplay is enough to convince me to buy their next game, when the next one comes out though, could be a whole new ball game...

my brother and i used to play the original VFL game on the first Nintendo. Used to play for hours on end. It was awesome. None of the players had names or anything. it was real low tech but fun

Out Of Bounds, On The Full

Each game you played always had a case of sirengate as you were allowed to score for a second or two after the final siren.
