I couldn't give a rats arse about any of those things you mentioned. They are all completely irrelevant.

The question you should be asking is:

Is the game going to feel like AFL when i have the controller in my hands?

That's all i give a shhit about for now.

Someone else said the other day (Jod? Topdon? I can't remember...) that "there's no point in having all those extra things if the gameplay sucks" and they were absolutely RIGHT!

It's the difference between Pro Evolution and FIFA.

Take the movement of the players for example - in Pro Evo, players have a slight delay in the movements. ie. they don't move the instant you press the button/joystick. In Fifa, there is no delay, which is silly as it instantly turns it into something unrealistic. In real life soccer, and AFL football, the key is to be able to read the play. Move before your opponent does. Anticipate your opponents movements and actions. Pro Evo forces to do this because of the delay in the players movements. Not to mention the fact that it is more realistic. When was the last time you were running full steam in one direction, only to stop and run full steam in the opposite direction, all within about 0.3 of a sec?

And the shooting methods - when you're taking a shot in Pro Evo, it feels like you're kicking the ball yourself. In FIFA, it feels like your pressing a button. That may sound weird but it's true. And it's all due to little differences in implementation.

One tiny little thing in that ridiculous review of AFL Live 2003 that i did get a little excited about was the fact that on the Xbox, the Right Trigger (i assume it will be the right shoulder button on PS2) is used to bounce the ball.

Can you see how that would make it feel like you're actually bouncing the ball? (maybe not if you're left-handed, but i'm sure you could configure the controller for it)

Who knows how it will translate in the game, but that, to me, shows that perhaps a little thought has gone into this game after all.

I still think it will suck.

Even if it has all those things you mentioned Denoz03.

Yes i did say that....it can have all the wonderfull stats, graphics, screamers, goals, ladder, season play, hits the post etc etc etc but if the gameplay is ****e then its all for nothing.

Im not looking for Pro Evo gameplay...but at least something decent that can keep me entertained until the new and improved AFL Live 2004 comes out in a year or 2. Thats all i ask.
