Things i feel need looking at and fixing, or adding:

Camera angles.

Better reply, slow mo, rewind fast forward etc, like any other sports title has.

The graphics and animation i am sure will improve, but IMO it needs to drastically improve to look like a 2007 standard game.

Actual captains at the toss, and if you win, getting to choose which end to kick to.

If AFL Premiership 2007 doesn't have season stats and continued stats (ie: kept stats through a players career and during multiple seasons) and full forwards always dominate, winning Brownlow medals and etc instead of midfielders, I just won't even buy the game, period.

You could release the current game, with its current game play and add those two features into it and I'll shell out $100 for it, right here and now. I'm dead serious too.

The game is an improvement on the previous one, but i find it pretty boring still.

Started a season with the Tiges and have started with the same win/loss record as them.

Started in the NAB Cup against Hawthorn and wasnt really in it all day, was down by 5 goals but made a comeback to get within 2 goals but ended up losing by about 6 goals.

Went into round 1 after that loss and stayed with the dogs for most the game, Coughlan had a long range shot on the run with about 30 secs to go to put me 1 goal down but it bounced through for a behind and i lost in the end by 13 or so.

Round 2 came against St Kilda, played well for 1 half and then had a shocker of a second half with them kicking about 10 goals more than me, i went down by about 13 goals.

Round 3 went to Subi and was losing by about 7 goals early in the 3rd, kicked 5 quick goals and found myself 2 goals down, then it was goal for goal and had a shot early in the last to put myself 10 or so down and it was a easy set shot which i screwed and went down in the end by 4 goals.

Round 4 i played Brisbane, got to a 5 goal lead midway through the 2nd but they kept coming, was up by 4 points with 2 and a half mins to go but kicked 5 quick goals to win by 6 goals or so.

Round 5 i went up against Carlton at the G, Touched them up nicely, its good to finally come up against a ruckman that i can beat with ease, i did let through 5 or so late goals in the 4th but ran out 11 goal winners.

So after round 3 i was sitting 16th on the ladder and now after round 5 i find myself 9th and out of the 8 on % to Essendon and thats who i play in round 6 at the G.

I agree 100% with this post. Don't shaft us by leaving things out that were in previous games ever again

Yeah it's a big improvement but still i don't find it that interesting. I'm glad i rented it and didn't listen to the gushing reviews on here and just go buy it, I was kind of annoyed that i paid $7 to hire it after playing it, but it's better than $60 i suppose.

Had 4 good games last night, all on "Medium" with 5 minute quarters - playing as Hawthorn in career mode. Had an up and down season, won the first 2 games, then went on a 4 game losing streak, before winning a few again, then losing a few. Heading into the last few rounds, my place in the top 8 (currently 6th) was under threat, basically only a game clear, before i could possibly drop to 8th or entirely out of the 8.

First game was against Adelaide, it was relatively even throughout the first 3 qtrs. Adelaide jumped off to a fast start, booting the first 3 goals (and one point), by the end of the 1st qtr i had only booted 2 goals myself. It was pretty much goal for goal in the 2nd qtr, before i booted a few more and ended up 2 goals in front. The 3rd was also even, up until the closing stages where Adelaide took control and ended up a fair way in front. I couldn't keep up in the 4th, and Adelaide piled on 6 goals to 1, and ended up winning by 66 points It wouldn't have been as bad if i didn't give away a few easy shots at goal (ie, i'd play on after they'd kick a behind, and i'd get caught holding the ball)

Next opponent in Brisbane, it was much the same story in the whole game, where it was relatively even for the most part - but Brisbane could have easily annihiliated me, if it wasn't for their innaccuracy they'd have won by more than 10+ goals (they 15 behinds). But i was still done by 33 points.

Next played Collingwood, i thought i was going to be in strife as they did towel me up by 49 points early on in the season. Things didn't start off so well, as they jumped to an early 2 goal lead. They also kicked 2 points BUT that was the last time they'd score until the 4th qtr. It was a great game as i had totally dominated from midway through the 1st qtr until the start of the 4th. In that time i had managed to get a 135 point lead over them. For some reason, Collingwood actually put some effort back into their game and managed to go goal for goal in the last qtr, but i still managed to win by 128 points. I was pleased with the result as i basically raised the percentage, that took a battering thanks to my 2 previous defeats.

The 4th game was a rather scrappy affair, that saw me only just beat Fremantle by 11 points.

FH, something that has annoyed me about the salary cap is that in the first year you lose 1k for every 1 point of overall that a player improves through development points yet i'm in year 3 now and your salary cap used goes up 1k for every 1 development point you give to a player, meaning you're always ending up going over the cap, this is annoying, is it supposed to happen or is it an accident

You could always not spend your development points so much. The salary cap sounds like a great addition to me. You cant have a team of superstars in the AFL and this enables it to be realistic.

Im assuming here BUT surely using the points on youngsters wouldnt cause you to go over the cap.

Well I think that every overall skill point u go up for with a player (takes about 8 dev points to go up 1 overall) decreases ya remaining salary cap room

and i think that, for example, a jump from 59-60 is considered the same as 89-90 but i aint sure...

as far as i know the younger players salary dosn't increase when you use Dev points on them, i don't think so anyway...i used Dev points on Sam Fisher and the salary cap room went down, then i used some points on a rookie and the cap stayed the same...

Ill give you a tip, don't try to make all your good players into superstars...i did and now im 10,000 in debt and still have 170 odd Dev points to use.

The salary and contracts needs to be looked at. Look at a game like NHL 06 or any of the EA titles, you can offer contracts with as many years as you want etc, it would not be hard to implement surely.

It is little touches like that, that make the game much more playable.

We're looking at placing players on contracts between 1-5 years. 1st year draftees will still be on two year contracts. Players coaxed out of retirement for one last season will be on 1 year contracts.
We feel that having contracts in the game will limit the capacity for trades that look stupid. How we manage this is to deny the User the ability to trade for a contracted player unless that player has 12mths or less on his contract. This limits the number of players available for trade making it more realistic as you won't trade if there isn't anyone who suits your needs.
Definitely have to get contracts into the game.

Your Salary cap won't go up for Players who are in their first 2 years of football. These guys are 1st year players drafted by your club. Their salaries are set to 100k for those two years. At the completion of those two years their overall value generates their market value (salary) so you'll see an explosion in your salary cap payments if you have focused all your dev points on those guys. What you need to do is find a balance between developing your young guys and keeping your very senior guys in shape (they lose value the older they get once they hit 30). You will also have to turnover your middle range hacks who aren't getting games but are costing you plenty.
It's really a balancing act. I suppose you need to decide on whether you are wanting to develop your young players or push for immediate glory with the old guys for as long as possible.

Like Michael O'Loughlin is now a Demon, Dean Rioli is now a Magpie, Brendan Lade a Lion etc. I offloaded Mark Williams & a dodgy player i barely used in the season to Geelong and recieved Gary Ablett & Cameron Ling in return Although they've barely made a difference in the new season as i'm currently 1 - 3.

Yeah I enjoyed looking at opposition sides in the new season to see who went were but I can't help but feel that this kind of entertainment would be better suited to a Fantasy draft. Not that we have one in the pipeline however.

has anybody found that, particularly on hard, that the blue circle for marking doesnt move? this is very frustrating as often i am in the perfect position to mark or spoil, and i can't do anything. i guess this is just another way of rigging the game so that its harder.
