Well I hope I have about 80% of them right...

Exceptions to the rule tend to be first year players who I have rated lower in categories such as this one so as to allow the User to develop them more. There are a few exceptions but they rate 70 at most.

this may be a pretty stupid (eg. matera_goal-like) question, but does dale thomas have his shag?

Given we have about 11-12 different hairstyles he has something close to it but not exactly like it. If there were more players with his hairstyle we might have been able to do something. He has a haircut in the game which is as close as we could get given our hair options. It is shag-like...

Ahem. Just got back from Subi. Now be kind enough to tell me the outcome of the Pies-Eagles game. See? Don't post that again

True, but I thought rookies were looked at as rookies.

You are correct. Rookies are looked at as rookies and rated as such. In this case he will receive the maximum rating in that area as a first year player from the draft which is 70. I understand this may not truly reflect his ability in real life but for the purposes of rating players and showing the differences between season hardened players and drafted players it had to be this way. A general improvement of his stats through gameplay however will always see his kicking distance ability outrate his other areas unless you specifically target other attributes with your development. But given the love factor of his kicking ability shown here I'm guessing you guys will have his kicking at 100 in no time huh?

How do you get experience points? do you automatically get them, or do you have to win matches etc?

You gain them each match but you will receive more for things like playing rather than simulating, winning a game, winning streaks, winning cups (both preseason and regular), making finals etc. You will still be awarded points for a loss and when you simulate games but you get more for actually participating and winning.
Contrary to my previous posts you can now award these experience points to your entire list as opposed to the 22 players who played that game (as was previously the case). We figured this was better as you may not want to play all your developing players and risk losing a game just to bring them on in their development.
Also with experience points you can pick out individual players to assign them to or just distribute them to the entire team. When choosing an individual player you can choose from any of his 10 attribute categories and boost them. One experience point = one point increase in an attribute.
You'll find some games you get about 6 and others you get about 30 or so...it all depends on how you are travelling and what you have achieved.
You can only develop players in Career Mode however and their improved stats don't carry over to other modes like Single Match.

The experience points sound good, but will players still slowly develop as you play them, by them selves, like in afl 2005? Interested on what the entire player development, and decline, is like.

Yes there is still natural development and decline that takes place as the players age. The experience points are an addition to that.

Cool, I like the system they have going there. It works well and you can help your youngsters progress. Just wish I could play this damn game!
I think it what we are all thinking. Just hope it's as good as they say. They have talked up ever other game made.

So ah Fiery Hawk, have you guys fixed the name generator this time around? Coz if we get like James Riewoldt, Paul Hird or Peter Giansiracusa... many people will be fairly p.o-ed!
