The onus is on the defending player to get out of the way, Zorko is entitled to run in a straight line. Hawkins cannot block his straight line run.

It’s a clear double 50 against Hawkins, the initial 50 was one of those either way ones, but for 5 ******* years you can’t impede the run of the attacking player after the 50.

Players aren’t allowed to delay the attacking player from advancing with the 50m.

In practice, if you have watched a lick of football since 2019, you would know that the defending player has to either sprint back to the mark OR get out of the way and allow a teammate down field to get on the mark. What you can’t do is jog in front of the attacking player and slow them down, or stop & block them.

Stupid rule, when they first brought it in quick players would draw a 50 by running faster than the guy on the mark and running into them but it has been paid that way for several years.
