Any ideas why the WC board thinks Rosa wants to trade up to pick 2? I got the opposite feeling.
I think due to draft being even, they would rather get 2 bites of cherry at 5+6 compared to 2+13.

As they are not certain on CDT, but are keen on Sharp + Cumming later.

Eagles list boss talked about possibly moving up 13.

Cut off part relates to us maybe not taking our academy players.

Interestingly, no mention of Schubert. Sounds like it’s on fox sports that thinks this is a possibility.

Hope you don't mind the intrusion here - I can't see a move for 2 happening and think Rosa's comments like most things list bosses say this time of year is an example of "speaking a lot without saying anything at all".

I think the ideal world in the West Coast camp would see us secure Duursma, CDT and Sharp, however even if we were to move up to 9 (we won't) and the Dons don't take him (seems unlikely now) I don't see him getting through Melbourne's picks.

If I was to call it for both clubs I'd say Duursma and CDT to WCE seems pretty safe and the Dons end up with:
  • Pick 5 - Robey/Cumming
  • Pick 6 - Sharp
  • Pick 9 - Dovaston

I think the only offer for pick 2 would be after our trade with Carlton for pick 9.

2 and 13

For

5 and 9

West Coast knock it back obviously and pick CDT.

It's neither here nor there for us as we'd be equally happy with whoever West coast do or don't pick at 2.

Might tempt WC if they think Sharp & Farrow is better than CDT & whoever at 13

Could also just be mind-games; 'if you bid on these guys don't assume we'll take them' might stop people going early on them trying to run up the cost.

Are you going to bid on Sweid @ 20 if he's a guy rated around 30 if you aren't certain EFC will match it?

Looks like the only way we get any of CDT Duursma or Robey is if we trade up.
I still think theres a chance
0 chance for Duursma
1-2% chance for CDT
25% chance for Robey

I would be reasonable confident Eagles go
1 Duursma 99%
2 CDT 95% if not then Robey or Sharp

Tigers harder to work out
3 Robey/Cumming/Grij/CDT/Sharp
4 X Taylor (most confident about Taylor 75%)
also possibility they trade back.

less likely if we offload our later picks for 9(but maybe that is a sweet spot for Grilj?)

I wouldn't trade 5,6,9 for 3+4

Taylor looks locked in for the Tigs, so it looks like it’s between Cumming and Robey. Runs on the board plus potential versus massive potential.

Honestly more scared of Lalor flanked by Hotton and Cumming in this day and age.

So we take whoever is left over and do we just take sharp or try and be “smart” and leave him for 9

The noise surrounding CDT has gone quiet, which makes me think West Coast is most likely going to take at 2. Is there the possibility of West Coast going for Robey instead? If so, I could definitely see CDT getting to the Essendon picks. If Richmond want Taylor and Cumming, will they throw it out to get a ruck?

Hearing that Essendon is doing their work on Pickett makes me think they want a small forward at 9. If Melbourne pass on Dovaston, Essendon will pick them, if Melbourne take Dovaston, Pickett comes into calculations. Sounds like Grlj won’t be an option which I don’t understand but I’m also a nuffy on bigfooty not a professional.

Gieschen on Gettable this morning seemed like they were really keen on Taylor and they had flown up to Mildura to meet Cumming and his family. He was complimentary about Robey, but less so than the others. Said they've been tracking Cumming since under 16s.

Makes me think they are going Taylor and Cumming, which would leave us Robey, Sharp and either Dovaston/Pickett with Carlton's pick.

I don’t think we take both Sharp and Robey, it will be one of them and Farrow.

yep balls in Demons court - they are keen on Nairn and Dovaston and Pickett....

we will take the small forward they leave on the board. Either Dovaston or Pickett.
It's good we are addressing an area of need.

That’s what Rosa said. They want to play for us, we want them to play for us. We won’t bite on a ridiculous bid
