The reason they showed gameplay for rugby league live 3 was because the player likeness sucked. They would have probably preferred to show likeness first before unleashing the gameplay but that game didn't have any likeness to boast about.
So going by that the gameplay for AFLE will suck, right?

WW would prefer to keep the gameplay under wraps to build anticipation, but with rugby league live likenesses sucking, they didn't have a choice. AFL evolution gameplay being good or not, they would be showing the likenesses anyway

Have you seen any of the AFLE gameplay?

GTL has the weirdest thought processes sometimes.
You mean like how he thinks WW are producing the greatest AFL game ever with the help of the AFL, yet simultaneously spends hours and hours doing player rankings because while they can make a great game and have the AFL providing quality control, they are too incompetent to get something like player ratings right?

The scary thing is... he seems to genuinely think he is helping and that the developers will be like "oh crap, the player ratings for Carlton aren't finished. Quick go on Bigfooty.com and use gtl's ratings. He's our only hope"

Any preference to console for AFLE? Based on previous AFL games. Sold mine (360) awhile ago and now debating as to which one I should go for, Keeping in mind the only reason ill get a new console is for this game, and fifa of course.

Is your PC up to running it? With the past history of AFL games I'm not sure I'd be buying a console just to play Evolution. Otherwise I'd just get the console that more of your friends have in case you want to play online.

You've got the wrong idea. While its funny what you are saying, the aim for me leading the ratings discussion is to come up with player ratings created by the fans. They have been wanting to have as much input from fans as they can and this might be an avenue to do that. the point is to get the ratings as accurate as possible to how the fans perceive the players. This might be something WW are interested in pursuing. They wouldn't have done the ratings yet if the game is going to come out early April. This would be one of the final touches.

Not sure I'd have to check that. It's just a laptop though, few months old. Can always get a mouse.

IF this game has been in development for even a full year, its pretty safe to speculate that by now the ratings are done for any and all players maybe with the exception of the rookies drafted 2 months ago. I would assume if you're creating a game with players, stats would be first and then creating the actual models and photographing/scanning players would be 2nd, done by team orders I'd say.

Thank you for acknowledging the hilarity of my previous post. But you still come across deluded at this point and as there is literally a company that are solely designated to afl player rating... *cough* Champion Data *cough* I genuinely doubt the "fan input" you speak of, carries any weight. At the end of the day, I, just like everyone else here wants nothing more than for there to be no more pointless player rating discussion after this post. Please!

Wow....hating this game already. Players who look too real, jumpers with exactly the same crease in them, legs that look identical, stadium that looks marginally different to the original.....WW has a lot to do to convince me!

They just can't win can they? If we don't get gameplay footage then the game will be shite, but if they release good looking player renders then the players look too detailed and have the exact same body shape!

Honestly, just wait until some sort of trailer is released. We will then have an indication of how it will turn out.

Good things come to those who wait.

Ha! I'm doing the same but also for the next installment of Madden. I'm going with PS4

In response, there is no way that would be the case. The player renders were done in 2015. Rating players would be one of the last tasks. The game is based on 2017 lists, so the ratings would need to take into account the 2016 season and possibly even part of 2017 season. If what you say is true then Max Gawn would be rated below Tom Hickey, Tom Lynch would be rated in the early 80s, Dangerfield would be ranked below Robbie Gray and Conor Blakeley would be rated in the mid 60s. Not to mention the cover star. You see, it wouldn't work this way. They will do the ratings pretty much last!

Theres not a chance ratings even reflecting 2017, not happening. If the game is meant to be out in 3 months, it would be almost 100% finished by now. Secondly, stats can be edited on the fly, as seasons end and the following start. I'm not getting into a debate with you about your precious rankings, but I guarantee the first order when developing in-game athletes in any sports game would be ratings and then the actual models.

Did I not inform you that nobody wishes for you to mention player ratings? My god! Do that in your own thread you specifically created for it. Be gone with you!

But that would be a pointless time waster to do them first as they would simply need to redo them all closer to release.
