Let's be honest... something smells fishy here.
One moment it is falling apart... the next it is all sweet??
Are the public meant to buy that?

This isn't a rumour. Please post on main board so more people can mock you.

Yeah that's just not right. He was supposed to go to a Vic club after Brisbane nurtured him for two years.

If the AFL intervened it wouldn't be the first time or last time.
Correct weight.

All the plebs in here laughing it off like it wouldn't happen must have been living under a rock.

Why do they think the AFL were so dirty on the Swans after Franklin snubbed GWS, fellas?

Not saying it's why Schache signed at all, but **** me dead, we follow the most concocted sport in the world, lead by a bunch of suits who can't help but get involved at every opportunity to protect their brand and interests(read as expansion teams).

That was the narrative, but as it turned out it was only Carlton and Richmond that made a bona fide play for his services.

Given the circumstances, can we really blame him for the about-face?

Clubs went cold on him, Richmond were interested up to a point. 21 yrs old, 23 games and clubs are falling all over themselves to sign him? Maybe that's what his manager told him and it proved not to be so? IMO he has done the right thing staying in Brisbane, at his age he could play the next two seasons and build up his resume. With 60 games under his belt and some BOG's to go with it Schache could then command a decent six figure sum at the ripe old age of 23? The jury is still out on Schache.

Do I think the AFL would intervene and do such a thing to help prop up their expansion clubs? Absolutely.

That doesn't mean they did so however. Just because a good young player who was rumoured to be considering a move stayed at his original club just means that he decided that was the better option for him. That's all, and until some hint of evidence comes out to the contrary I say kudos and congratulations to Brisbane for keeping someone they clearly wanted to keep.

He's 19 ffs, He's in his second season of footy.

Wow, I'm not sure if the AFL were involved but it sure seems a bit of a turnaround from what the media were saying.
