Gibbo, just out of personal opinion and if you can answer mate, but did any particular player from the Collingwood in-game squad just stand out and play almost EXACTLY like their real life counterparts?

Thanks

hey Ross, will the new essendon jumper (as of yesterday) with the new sponsors be in the game ? or now that they have already been made with samsung on them will they be used instead ? i know all licensed guernseys are in there but as it was changed so close to the season would be interested to know ?

Ahk. So its defiantly not going to have any ground based fighting? As the moment you get tackled a whistle is blown?

It's not as immediate as that. But it's basically; tackle, you both go to ground and then it either pins you or it doesn't - depending on how you get caught.

It's not incorrect how it has been done by Big Ant, by any means, I just personally wouldn't mind having the chance at some point to be able to try and win the ball off of the ground.

Depends how you mean? As Andy and Francis were playing co-op as Collingwood it obviously depends on how they approach playing. But for the brief match they played, Swan and Shaw were racking up touches and Steele made a nice cameo with two beautiful goals.

In terms of 'signature player traits', like Swan running like a truck with a square tire - then no.

I'm going to be honest and say that this sort of thing is unlikely to get fixed. The game is made to be in motion, and in motion you wouldn't see it.

It's the balance between getting players to instantly change their mind on what they want to do and snappng the animation, and having real-world inertia and frocing players to what before actions can begin. (Hope this makes sense?)

Yeah, I know what you mean. It isn't a big deal, and I wouldn't have even bothered pointing it out if it weren't so obvious in the still frame. ;)

You can't really avoid that sort of thing in sports games. I've seen it in Maddens and FIFAs before, so it's no surprise here. In fact, most of the time I view an instant replay in a Madden or FIFA game I usually come across something similar.

I remember a strange glitch from AFL 99 where some players limbs would break off from their torso while in play.

Oh sorry I didnt mean running styles and the like, I meant more how you wrote the first part as in Swan and Shaw rack up the touches and Steele gets some goals. Thanks for the insight, hopefully Didak is just as igniting in the game as he is during the season!!

Yeah it's fairly faithful in that sense then. Plus the breakdown of stats during the breaks and after the game is brilliant, it's essentially what you'd get from the TV coverage. Big Ant have done a smashing job on those portions of the interface and the way stats are presented to the player.

And as a Collingwood supporter - I, too, hope Didak turns it up this year. Back to back, mate!

Oh at this point, they couldn't possibly change it before release. I was merely putting that forward as a suggestion for future iterations should folks seem to think umpires are a bit quick on the whistles this time around.

Couldn't hurt to have some kind of ground struggle system should you get wrapped up, give you a chance to get the ball loose to avoid a ball-up? I dunno. Just mulling it over.

I don't know wether you have played madden but do you mean anything similar to the fight for the fumble feature in the madden series.

BTW: because you posted new screenshots on your website if it is okay with Ross and you would ant be able to post them in the FAQ.

And possibly the 360 spoiling feature in the FAQ with Ross's permission.
