I'm a big fan of management games. I'd love to be able to draft randomised players, each little stat randomly generated, then I can target their training to turn them into the player I want over a few seasons while playing out the games and players achieving goals lets me upgrade their ability. Such as getting 30 touches in a game for the first time let's me increase any stat I like by 5% etc etc.

So, AFL Live 2 has been given classification by the ACB. You would think its less than a month away!!!

http://www.classification.gov.au/Pages/Recent.aspx

I doubt we'll see it in under a month. Ross said this on Planet Cricket when they were discussing ratings.

"PEGI is available as soon as you have indicative content.... I have had PEGI and ESRB ratings for games a year ahead of release with less than 20% completion of the game. Ratings can be done by sending a video of the gameplay."

He also said you have to have ratings before it's submitted to Sony or MS, and the submission phase can easily take a month or 2 as well.

From what I can tell, the last AFL Live was rated about 2 or 3 months before its 21/4/11 release date

Hopefully this means we will see AFL Live 2 on the eve of finals, which seems like the most strategic release window having missed the start of the season.

I believe they will release it around the 10th of December, so that every spoiled brat will want it for christmas.

To get a rating they need atleast 50 hours of gameplay. Hopefully released before the teams are changed at the end of season.

They'll be able to patch the list change in at a later date, in the end. I read that Microsoft have stopped charging developers - within reason - to patch their games for 360.

So that's a little more friendly for Big Ant who wouldn't be running on the highest of budgets.

Great to hear it's coming sooner than later, though.

Crowd Noise:
Crowd noise and size needs to be realistic. A Collingwood v Essendon game should have better atmosphere than a North v Port game. Also, the home team should have a bigger fan base than a team travelling interstate. For example, Collingwood v Essendon should be packed and you should be able to hear supporters screaming, ‘BALL!’ and chanting their team name. At North v Port, around 18 000 – 28 0000 should show up and with this, the crowd should not be as vocal. Also, the crowd size should also be affected by how the teams are going in the season. For example, if a game where West Coast are 12th and St Kilda are 15th in round 19 and both teams are out of finals contention, there shouldn’t be as many people as a game where West Coast are 1st and St Kilda are 2nd.

More Music:
Just get some music from little known bands that won’t cost as much as big bands and we won’t go insane from listening to two songs on repeat.

Improved AI
It would be very helpful if AI would shepherd and bump opposition to give you some space to move. Also, if in a two v one situation in your favour, your AI teammate should not simply run next to you or your opponent and provide neither an option to pass to or as a teammate to shepherd/bump your opponent. At the moment, this is very frustrating!

Torpedo Success Rate
Currently, whenever you do a torpedo at a set shot for goal, it spirals perfectly and it is always hooked the same amount depending on how hard you kick it. What should happen is that the ball should occasionally spin badly and spray of your boot to the left, right and everywhere if you don’t get it right. However, if you get it right it should go just how you want it. If this happened, it would make the game more realistic as it a hard kick to pull off, it would make the game more challenging, it would make the kick a more risky option but it would also be more rewarding when you pull off a barrel from 70m.

Improved Commentary
At the moment, the goal is called as soon as it comes of your boot even when the ball is smothered which is annoying, and the commentators continually repeat the same generic stuff every single game. Adding more variety to the commentary would make the game more enjoyable.

Evasive Moves and Sprint Speeds
There is currently WAY too much tackling in the current game. There needs to be the ability to sidestep, spin out of trouble, sell the dummy, etc. As it is, everyone in the game has the same sprint speeds so Ben Hudson can chase down Cyril Rioli. What should happen is faster players should be very effective in open spaces where they can use their speed to run and evade. Also if you could sidestep and sell the dummy, it would remove some of the congestion you get in stoppage situations. For example, if you could sidestep one opponent and sell the dummy to the next and then use the pace to get away it would be much, much more enjoyable. This shouldn’t be OP (overpowered) though as this would ruin the game. Sell the dummy: RB/R1 and slide the right analogue stick left-right or right-left depending which way you want to go. Sidestep: LB/L1 and slide the right analogue stick right twice if you want to step right in a quick, agile way, or slide the right analogue stick left twice for vice-versa and if you want to go left-right, hold LB/L1 and slide the right analogue stick left and then right and you will step left and then quickly change direction and slide the stick right and then left for vice-versa.

Improved Career Mode
A solid career mode would make me play this for hours on end. First of all, you should definitely be able to do more than one season. A career mode with trading (the trading would preferably not involve static player salaries), drafting, free agency, list management, player development, contracts, etc. would be amazing. This is definitely the most important aspect Big Ant need to work on IMO.

Instant Replay
Not a must but it would be nice to see those great goals again and with the ability to save and upload online.

Statistics
It would be good to have the ability to look at stats any time during the game, for any player.

Online Pause
A 20-30 second pause (with a maximum amount of uses per game) would be great and inexpensive.

Extras
· Man behind play is unmanned so you have the ability to switch play without kicking to a 1v1 and/or you can hold the ball up if need be.
· Custom tactics creator
· Crowd responds to 50m, free kicks, etc.
· Ability to choose the exact amount of rounds in competition mode
· Realistic injuries so you have moderation instead of either having no injuries or heaps and once one player gets injured, they shouldn’t all do the same
· Fantasy draft mode where every AFL player enters the draft with the ability of turning of salary cap
· Player development similar to FIFA 13 with different players having different potentials

Surely the game won't be released until next year *after* they get all the teams new players photographs etc.

I suppose the next most likely date would be finals. Hopefully it is then, but I'm not confident.

Awesome!! They listened to me and pissed off BT from commentary by the sounds of it! :p

I've been playing Rugby League Live 2 heaps lately and if the game is similar to that I'll be happy.

If the season mode is anything like RLL2 i wont bother, will just be used to learn the ridiculous knee jerk changes big ant will make to controls to hit the ranked online games with a bit of nous.

As long as the tactical changes are immense i cant see this game being a massive leap over its predecessor in regards to online play. They had it pretty right the first, er, post first patch first time.

Wonder if they will put walk over the mark smothers back in?
